Fertil Steril. 1996 Sep;66(3):478-80. doi: 10.1016/s0015-0282(16)58523-9.

Abstract

Objective: To report a case of pulmonary edema after local injection of vasopressin at laparoscopy.

Setting: University teaching hospital.

Patient: A 24-year-old woman who underwent a laparoscopic myomectomy.

Intervention: Injection of vasopressin (10 mL of 0.5 U/mL) into the uterine wall overlying the myoma.

Results: Bradycardia, atrioventricular block, and pulmonary edema.

Conclusions: The use of vasopressin can be associated with severe cardiopulmonary complications.
