Chronic post-traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the abdominal aorta diagnosed by duplex Doppler ultrasonography. A case report

Acta Radiol. 1997 Jan;38(1):121-3. doi: 10.1080/02841859709171254.

Abstract

Traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the abdominal aorta is a rare pathology. To date aortography, CT and ultrasonography are the only diagnostic tools available for establishing the diagnosis. We report a case in which the presence of a continuous bidirectional flow in the neck of the pseudoaneurysm, as seen with duplex Doppler ultrasonography, confirmed the diagnosis.
