Gastrointestinal involvement in Henoch-Schönlein syndrome: CT findings

AJR Am J Roentgenol. 1997 Apr;168(4):965-8. doi: 10.2214/ajr.168.4.9124151.

Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study was to describe the CT features of gastrointestinal involvement in seven patients with Henoch-Schönlein syndrome.

Conclusion: Although the incidence of Henoch-Schönlein syndrome is low, it should be considered when CT scans show multifocal areas of bowel-wall thickening, mesenteric edema, vascular engorgement, and nonspecific lymphadenopathy. It should be considered especially in young patients with acute gastrointestinal symptoms.
