Eleonora Alfinito, PhD, is an associate professor in applied physics at the University of Salento, Italy. Her main research interests cover electronic phenomena in biological systems (proteotronics), biosensors, dynamical processes in biophysics, complex networks, and statistical physics, and her scientific production includes one monography and about one hundred papers. She has been a member of various international networks, of the editorial committees of various international journals, and of the organizing committee of numerous international conferences. She is an author of more than one hundred refereed publications and one monograph.
In the early 2000s, she opened with Lino Reggiani the line of research known as proteotronics, which integrates data and methods from different disciplines to investigate the electrical properties of proteins and aptamers.
