Amit Kumar obtained B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Physics from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Prasanthi Nilayam, India, in 2002 and 2004, respectively. In 2005 he won the research fellowship at the Computing Center of the University of Heidelberg (Germany). In 2006 he won Marie Curie fellowship under Research and Training Network (FP6) programme. He received PhD degrees in Physics and Innovation Sciences and Technologies University of Cagliari, Cagliari, Italy, in 2010 and 2018, respectively. He is a member of the IEEE Society since 2023. He has published over 60 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He is Editorial board member of PLOS ONE journal since 2022. He is currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Cagliari, Italy. His main research interests include designing novel materials for optoelectronic applications, DC-DC converters, wide band gap devices, renewable energy systems, and electrical vehicle battery management systems.
