5 Realistic Dream Matches That Could Headline WWE WrestleMania 41 Card

Graham GSM Matthews

WWE's heavy hype for WrestleMania 41 so far indicates it will be a historic happening in Las Vegas next April, more so than almost any other installment in recent years.

Of course, the last two 'Manias will be tough to top with both being among the most well-rounded events WWE has produced, but the company's current creative hot streak should give fans hope that it's possible.

Additionally, Triple H's emphasis on long-term storytelling—as evidenced by the many monumental storyline payoffs at The Show of Shows this past year—provides a clearer vision of what the card could look like.

With The Rock and Seth Rollins presumably returning to WWE TV in the coming months, CM Punk hopefully staying healthy and John Cena set to kick off his retirement tour in January—along with the star-studded main roster already available—WWE will have a lot of big-time players to work with for April 19-20, 2025.

WrestleMania being a two-night extravaganza gives more matches an opportunity to headline, and the following five "dream" contests have the most realistic chance of doing just that in Vegas.

The Rock vs. Roman Reigns

WWE didn't get the marquee 'Mania main event it wanted in The Rock vs. Roman Reigns this year, but the path it took instead was far more appealing and beneficial to everyone involved.

Rock embracing the boos and organically turning heel made for a must-see Road to WrestleMania in the first few months of 2024 as well as an unbeatable pairing with Reigns.

The two toppled Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in a high-stakes tag team bout on Night 1 of WrestleMania 40 before The American Nightmare ended The Tribal Chief's dominant four-year run as world champion on Night 2.

There hasn't been any interaction between the two since then, with Rock last being seen on WWE TV the night after 'Mania confronting Rhodes and promising he'll have his sights set on the WWE Championship when he returns.

That would seem to suggest Rhodes vs. Rock is the tentative plan for WrestleMania 41, but it's entirely possible WWE runs that matchup early in order to book Reigns vs. Rock on The Grandest Stage of Them All instead.

It can merely mark the beginning of a larger feud between the two, but either way, Reigns' recent babyface turn indicates a run-in with The Great One is inevitable. Needless to say, such an iconic clash must be saved for WrestleMania at this point.

John Cena vs. Gunther

John Cena's announcement at Money in the Bank that he intends to wrap up his in-ring run with a full slate of matches throughout 2025 immediately spawned speculation from fans regarding potential opponents throughout his retirement tour.

He's only one world title win away from breaking WWE's all-time record of 16, and he'd be remiss to not attempt to capture either the Undisputed WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship a final time before he calls it a career.

As it stands, world heavyweight champ Gunther has no obvious challenger at WrestleMania 41—and it's safe to assume he won't be losing the prestigious prize before then. That's a spot that could easily be filled by Cena considering the story.

The two have yet to interact in any official capacity, and Gunther would surely give the soon-to-be Hall of Famer one of his best bouts in years. Cena wouldn't necessarily need to emerge victorious, either; that moment can always be saved for later in the year, closer to his actual sendoff.

Cena vs. Gunther may be the least likely WrestleMania match of those listed here, but it would be an attraction and not one that's completely out of the realm of possibility.

Bianca Belair vs. Jade Cargill

The idea of Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill forming a formidable tandem at this time one year ago would have been almost unthinkable, but the latter quickly making her way from All Elite Wrestling to WWE made that dream a reality.

The two powerhouses have been aligned since shortly before WrestleMania 40. After dismantling Damage CTRL at the spring spectacle, they went on to win the WWE Tag Team Championship the following month.

They briefly lost the titles to The Unholy Union over the summer, only to regain them at Bash in Berlin at the end of August.

A one-on-one feud is obviously the endgame, but WWE seems to be taking its time telling that story because it wants to hold off until closer to WrestleMania 41. A title doesn't need to be on the line for that to feel special, but it would increase their chances of headlining the event.

Belair has experience main-eventing 'Mania, having done so with Sasha Banks in 2021. Once she and Cargill lose the tag titles again, one of them could win the WWE women's title to set them up for a massive championship clash against each other in Las Vegas next April.

Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton

From AJ Styles and Logan Paul to Solo Sikoa and Kevin Owens, Cody Rhodes has taken on all comers to his Undisputed WWE Championship since WrestleMania 40, but his biggest challenge as champ has yet to come.

Given the seeds that have been planted since the start of the summer, all signs point to Randy Orton soon stepping up to face Rhodes for the WWE title.

However, The American Nightmare recently joining forces with former foe Roman Reigns to combat The Bloodline means that match won't be coming to fruition anytime soon.

Rhodes' alliance with The Original Tribal Chief shouldn't sit well with Orton, who has spent the last two years feuding with the faction that was responsible for putting him on the shelf (in storyline) for two-and-a-half years. That should be the catalyst for The Viper eventually betraying the titleholder and setting the stage for their program.

As mentioned, if The Rock vs. Rhodes is not earmarked for WrestleMania 41, Rhodes vs. Orton is the bout to book. The sheer amount of history between them makes the match 'Mania-worthy, and spending the next several months building toward it would give it the big-fight feel it deserves.

Orton hasn't headlined The Show of Shows in over a decade, but rekindling his rivalry with Rhodes could be how he gets back to that elusive main event spot in 2025.

Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk

Had CM Punk not been sidelined with a torn triceps in the 2024 men's Royal Rumble match, he would have challenged Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40—and likely won.

Punk has since returned to the ring and been embroiled in a heated rivalry with Drew McIntyre for many months, but after he inadvertently cost Rollins the title by interfering in his match with Damian Priest and McIntyre at Money in the Bank, it's apparent The Visionary's bad blood with The Best in the World is far from over.

With Punk on the verge of wrapping up his rivalry with McIntyre inside Hell in a Cell, he and Rollins could renew hostilities in time for Survivor Series—the same event Punk returned to WWE at one year ago while a visibly frustrated Rollins looked on from ringside.

That said, if it was intended for the WrestleMania stage the first time, that's where their anticipated encounter should go down next year, regardless of whether gold is up for grabs or not.

Both men may get their long-desired singles WrestleMania main event after all.
