Office of the Provost

Provost John Volin oversees the six colleges and schools at the University of Maine, as well as its regional campus in Machias, the Division of Lifelong Learning and Cooperative Extension. The Provost’s Office also leads academic affairs, faculty development, student success initiatives, strategic priorities, program assessment and accreditation, institutional research and assessment, university libraries, and academic personnel management.

Getting an education at UMaine goes beyond the traditional classroom setting.

UMaine offers a wide variety of opportunities for students to go abroad whether that be a semester, year, summer, or internship. Students also have the choice of going on a Direct Exchange or a Recommended Program.
