Wang extends sympathy over severe floods, landslides in Nepal

BEIJING — Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday sent a message of condolences to Nepalese Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, over the severe floods and landslides in Nepal.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said he was shocked to learn that heavy rainfall in Nepal has triggered severe floods and landslides, resulting in significant casualties and property losses.

He also expressed deep condolences over the victims and sincere sympathy to the bereaved families and the injured.

As a friendly neighbor linked by mountains and rivers, China has always shared weal and woe with Nepal and is ready to provide support and assistance within its capacity for Nepal's flood relief in light of its needs, said Wang.
