- Todd Ray has recently expanded his Venice Beach Freakshow and holds open auditions to find new talent. As an array of skilled, and not so skilled, performers audition, the Freakshow family realizes that finding a new addition won't be easy. Ali worries about her job security after a man who's even littler than she is performs on a skateboard; Morgue is less than impressed with any of the performers' stage presences; and Todd is intrigued by a snake lady, but Asia is troubled by the sexual nature of the act. Later, Morgue and Asia discuss the auditions and he informs her that he has been working on a new stunt that is "more dangerous" than anything he's ever done. Meanwhile, Garry "Stretch" Turner (the man with "the stretchiest skin in the world") arrives at the Freakshow. Todd has asked Garry to perform at the Grand Reopening. The big day arrives and Todd introduces his selection for the newest member of the Freakshow family: Jenevieve the Serpentine Sorceress -- to Asia's dismay. The reopening is a success, as is Morgue's newest stunt: swallowing a curved scythe that must graze his heart in order to enter his body.
- Everyone at the Freakshow is excited for Boobzilla, a performer who crushes soda cans and lift objects with her size 44R cup breasts. When she arrives, she explains that her large chest is due to gigantomastia, a condition that causes her breasts to grow uncontrollably. For her debut Freakshow performance, Boobzilla would like to a lift Amazing Ali with her breasts. Unfortunately, Ali has been experiencing hip pain and doesn't think she'll be able to do the stunt. With Todd's urging, Ali visits a doctor who says hip replacement surgery is her only option. Ali fears that a lengthy absence from the Freakshow will make her seem obsolete, but Todd assures her that her position will be there when she returns. Before her surgery, the Freakshow gang visits Ali at the hospital. After a lengthy wait, Ali's doctor arrives and delivers the good news -- Ali's surgery went great. Her husband Matt is overjoyed and performs handstands in the waiting room. Back at the Freakshow, Jenevieve gets a nasty bite from her snake. Todd becomes concerned about the the animal being around the public, but Jenevieve assures him she will make sure everyone is safe. It's time for the show! During the outside performance Jenevieve drops her snake on a railing. Asia thinks that she is more focused on the way she looks then the safety of her animal and tells Todd about the incident. Todd confronts Jenevieve, but she downplays the accident and brushes it off. Inside the Freakshow, Boobzilla begins her act by crushing cans with her breasts. Next, she lifts a chair holding Gabriel Pimentel, a little person who had previously auditioned for the Freakshow. At the end of the day, Todd and Danielle thank Boobzilla by giving her a special red tasseled brassiere.
- Creature is looking for a place to live but finds that his appearance is off-putting to potential roommates. He confides in Todd and tells him that sometimes he feels like he is "cursed." Todd offers encouragement, explaining that the adversity Creature is facing will only make him a stronger person. At the Freakshow, Todd is preparing for a special tattoo event. The first performer to arrive is Brian "Legz" Tagalog, an armless tattoo artist who uses his feet to draw tattoos. Next is Matt Gone, a man who has tattoos covering 99% of his body, including his tongue and eyeballs. Matt made a negative comment about Creature's tattoos and piercings online, and the two butt heads. Their conflict is quickly resolved after Matt apologizes. Before the show, "Legz" demonstrates his technique on Creature and gives him a new tattoo. Tattoo, a man covered with tattoos and donning long fangs, also attends the event. He, too, had trouble finding a place to live due to his appearance and offers to help Creature find a new home. At the tattoo event, Todd shows off all of his guests, calling them "living pieces of art." He explains that the event celebrates individuality and the freedom to be yourself. As a grand finale, Todd reveals a very special guest -- Maria Jose, the Vampire Lady from Mexico.
- For the Freakshow's first nighttime show, Todd asks the performers to come up with new stunts that they normally wouldn't do during the day. Asia discusses her desire to bring more danger to her Electric Lady act. Todd suggests that she work with Miss Electra, a performer famous for her Tesla coil lightning-bolt stunt. Before Asia is able to contact Miss Electra herself, Todd meets with her and discusses passing on the stunt to Asia. Miss Electra is reticent. Later, on her own accord, Asia convinces Miss Electra to come see her perform at the Freakshow. Miss Electra is impressed and agrees to teach her how to use the Tesla coil. Meanwhile, Ali is having difficulty recovering from her hip surgery. Her husband Matt encourages her and eventually Ali is able to walk a few feet without the use of her walker. Back at the Freakshow, Asia speaks with Todd about her continued concern over Jenevieve the Snake Lady not being a good fit for the Freakshow. Todd and Danielle make the decision to fire Jenevieve. At the nighttime show, Todd pulls out all the stops. Asia wows the crowd with her Tesla coil stunt, as she channels electricity through her body and lights a neon bulb. Todd and Miss Electra both express how proud they are that Asia will carry the Tesla coil act into the next generation of freakshow performers.
- Todd and the Freakshow family head to Gibsonton, Florida, a town that had once been the winter home for carnival and sideshow performers across the country. At the airport, they are greeted by Grady "Lobster Boy" Stiles. As an expert on freakshow lore, Grady offers to give everyone a tour of the legendary sideshow town. First up is the Showmen's Museum where the group sees vintage ferris wheels and photographs of famous sideshow performers. Next is Al Tomaini's Giant Camp and then the Showtown Bar, where they meet living legend, Ward Hall. Known as "King of the Sideshow", Ward is also the owner of the traveling World of Wonders show. In an attempt to "bring a little magic back to Gibtown" Todd suggests that the Venice Beach Freakshow and the World of Wonders come together for a one night only spectacular sideshow event. The next day, The Freakshow members get to work setting up the banners and tent for the big show. Meanwhile, Amazing Ali learns how to perform a fire breathing stunt under the watchful eye of famous fire breather Red Stuart. Before the show, Ward regales the group with tales of his days performing the "Fighting Lion" act and dubs Todd "the savior of the sideshow business." Just before showtime, heavy rains begin to flood the sideshow grounds and threaten to make the big day a wash-out. Luckily, masses of people still turn up for the event. Amazing Ali pulls off her big fire breathing stunt and Red Stuart wows the crowd by swallowing an 8lb car axle. The show goes off without a hitch and Venice Beach Freakshow and Ward Hall's World of Wonders prove that the sideshow is still alive and well.
- Todd, Danielle, and Phoenix are still visiting Gibsonton, the legendary sideshow town. They talk with Grady "Lobster Boy" Stiles about his father's unique fame and their troubled relationship. His father's life was plagued by violence and alcoholism and ended with a mysterious murder. In Los Angeles, Asia begins apartment hunting with the help of Morgue and her two friends. They ask Morgue about the state of his and Asia's relationship but he doesn't go into details. Later on, Asia reluctantly agrees to accompany her friends to a country bar where she feels out of place and uncomfortable. Her friends note Morgue's "moody" demeanor and continue to inquire about their relationship. Asia ultimately puts in an application for the apartment and expresses to Morgue how nervous she is to tell her parents that she's moving out. After thirteen years of service, George decides to leave his job at the Virginia Deprartment of Corrections and move to California to work at the Freakshow full-time. His coworkers express concern over his decision and his girlfriend doesn't feel like she will be able to maintain a long distance relationship. They decide to take a "break" so George can pursue his lifelong dream. Back in Gibsonton, Danielle, Todd, and Phoenix accompany Grady to his father's grave site and help him gain some closure on his past.
- The Freakshow celebrates the history of giants with a "Living Giants" special event. At the event, Morgue wants to perform a new stunt involving a bed of razor blades. To create the razor bed, Todd, Morgue, and Asia visit Rick Lazzarini, a special effects artist. Rick is initially hesitant to build the bed of razors due to the potential dangers it presents but eventually agrees. Meanwhile, George Bell, a.k.a. "The Tallest American," has moved to California and ended his relationship with his girlfriend Diane. He's ready to try out online dating and meets Lindsey for a round of mini-golf. George likes Lindsey, but thinks she's too young and also too short. Todd then sets George up on a date with Amazon Eve, the world's tallest model at six feet, eight inches tall. George and Eve get to know each other over dinner at Todd's house and then in the hot tub. While he likes Eve, George feels that his heart is still with Diane back in Virginia. George calls Diane and they decide to get back together. Back at the Freakshow, the bed of razors arrives. Containing over 700 blades, Morgue will need complete focus and will have to distribute his body weight evenly over the razors in order to pull off this stunt. Even a small movement could result in bloodshed. Later, Morgue calls his mother to ask if she can come to see his big stunt. She has never seen him perform and he hopes that she can witness the freakshow part of his life. Unfortunately, she says she cannot make it. The day has arrived for the giant event. Todd has also brought in Tall Kat, who stands over seven feet tall in high heels, and George the Giant who holds the record for swallowing the longest sword in history. Inside, Morgue prepares for his stunt. He lays down on the bed of razors and places a mirror on his chest. He then uses a brick to shatter the mirror, which he says is a metaphor for destroying parts of his past and entering into a new beginning. He gets up, revealing no major cuts. Todd states that this will be a show the audience will "talk about forever."
- Wedding bells are ringing when Digger, the Sadu Hobo, invites the Freakshow group to his campsite nuptials under the stars. The entire gang, including Todd, Morgue, Asia and even Creature pack up and head to the rustic site in the California hills. After setting up camp and pitching tents, the crew learns the ways of a wandering lifestyle from Ken "The King" Kurt "Dirti" Powell and other hobos who had formally worked at The Venice Beach Freakshow. Digger lets their visitors know that in order to stay on the property, "chores need to get done". He enlists the their help around the farm including milking goats and gathering eggs from a chicken coup. Morgue and George have a hard time adjusting while Jessa feels comfortable enough to take a nude dip in an abandoned pool. Wee Matt annoys Ali during the trip with his naughty antics and a personality rift in their marriage comes to the surface. Luckily Todd and Danielle are there to offer the newlyweds marital advice. With the Freakshow reunited with the hobo gang, Todd decides to put on a good old-fashioned sideshow. Digger attaches 8lbs of weight to his ears while Ken "The King" puts his face in a pile of glass as Danielle steps on his head. For the finale, the hobos all lay on top of sharp objects as Todd smashes a block of concrete on top of them. On the big day, Digger gets dressed up for the wedding while Asia helps his bride-to-be, Paige, with her makeup. Wee Matt apologizes to Ali for his rude antics with a bouquet of flowers and they reconcile. During the ceremony, Todd escorts Paige down the aisle and after the "I-do's" are said, Paige and Digger get matching tattoos to show their devotion to each other.
- This week, Todd and the Freakshow gang are looking to break some new world records. Asia and Morgue team up for a stunt that involves Asia using a whip to hit a target attached to a sword inside Morgue's belly. At home, Todd shows Danielle some of his new oddities, including a pig that was born with his brain outside of its head. Now that the kids are growing up and barely home, Danielle wants to stay busy and suggests hosting a dinner party with the neighbors. Todd is hesitant, fearing they may be judgmental of his and Danielle's non-conventional lifestyle, but ultimately agrees. Later, Chayne the Space Cowboy arrives at the Venice Beach Freakshow where he plans to achieve his 30th world record. Todd urges Jessa the Bearded Lady to go for the record of "longest beard on a woman." Back at the Ray household, Todd is dismayed to find that Danielle has hidden his collection of oddities. However, he has a surprise of his own up his sleeve: he's invited some members of the freakshow to dinner. The neighbors arrive and are surprised by Ray's eclectic household and by Creature's unique look. George, Jessa, and Ali also arrive and Todd shows off his two-headed turtle to the amazement of the dinner guests. At the Freakshow, Asia and Morgue's whip stunt goes off without a hitch and Jessa achieves the world record for the longest beard on a woman (11 inches). Chayne the Space Cowboy also breaks a world record by completing ten knife throws and catches on a unicycle while blindfolded. Todd is pleased that records were broken and new experiences were had at the Freakshow.
- This week, the Freakshow is holding an exciting suspension event. But first, Phoenix needs to find a date! He brings Zoe, a girl he met at a tattoo event, to his house and tries to impress her with his family's collection of oddities. Todd is surprised that Phoenix is turning into such a "ladies man" but Danielle has concerns. She prefers that Phoenix get together with Ruby, the girl who works next door to the Freakshow. At the Ray household, Jelly Boy the Clown, Matterz Squidling Andrew Stanton, and Kelvita the Blade stop by for dinner. They discuss the upcoming suspension event and Todd explains the history of suspension, which involves hanging bodies from meat hooks strung through the skin. Later, Phoenix follows his mom's advice and takes Ruby on a date. She is taken by his "goofball charm" and says that he is "winning her over". The next day, Asia offers Phoenix some advice on his love life. She tells him that he should make his own choices and go with his heart. Phoenix decides to bring Ruby to the suspension event, much to Danielle's delight. At the Freakshow, Andrew shows off the hooks that he'll use during Jelly Boy and Matterz's suspension stunt. Todd hopes the audience can handle this extreme stunt. It's show time! Jelly Boy gets four large hooks inserted into his back as the Freakshow gang looks on. The stunt begins as Matterz lies down in a coffin and gets completely covered with broken glass. Then, Jelly Boy gets attached to suspension cables through the hooks inserted into his back and is lifted high into the air. While suspended, he swallows a flaming sword above Matterz's coffin, symbolizing their triumph over death. Todd notes that the Freakshow witnessed two rites of passage this week - Jelly Boy and Matterz rising above death and Phoenix entering manhood.
- This week, the Freakshow gets a visit from Short E. Dangerously, an incredible "half man" who performs stunts including fire breathing and knife throwing. Todd suggests that he attempt "The One-Armed Handstand," a stunt once performed by famed "half-man" Johnny Eck. In preparation for the week's big show, Short E. begins working on his upper body so that he can pull off the notorious stunt. Later, Todd brings some Freakshow members to a nursing home to visit his sick pal, George French. Known as the "Wizard of Venice," George has been reading palms on the Venice Boardwalk for decades. In order to cheer up George and the other nursing home residents, Todd, Jessa, Short E. and Asia offer the nursing home residents a taste of the Freakshow. When Todd returns to the Freakshow, he tells Danielle about his palm reading experience and how they should turn the Freakshow into a traveling road show. She's concerned that expanding would be too risky. In response to her skepticism, Todd proposes putting on an impromptu Freakshow in a square in Hollywood. Meanwhile, Morgue and Asia visit the hardware store to get inspiration for new stunts. Morgue settles on a circular saw, while Asia reveals Todd's plans to expand the Freakshow. The thought of he and Asia not performing together proves to be unsettling for Morgue. The next day, The Freakshow family and Short E. head down to Hollywood Boulevard. Todd notes the positive response the group is getting from pedestrians. Right then and there they decide to put on a "pop up" sideshow. Todd starts by introducing Asia and her firebreathing stunt. Next, Morgue lifts his new circular saw using a meat hook strung through his nose and mouth. Short E. Dangerously then wows the crowd by performing Johnny Eck's famous one armed handstand stunt. Todd notes that Short E.'s historic act has given him the confidence to expand so that more people are able to witness the human wonders of The Freakshow.
- This week's episode kicks off with Todd Ray telling the gang that he's considering a second location for the Freakshow. Phoenix wants to prove that he's a vital member of the Freakshow and decides to learn how to "talk" (a term used to describe the act of luring audience members into a sideshow). In order to up their game, Asia begins to work on a stunt involving a ladder of machetes and Morgue crafts a device to enhance his water regurgitation act. As Phoenix's "talking" lessons begin, he finds himself getting nervous and overwhelmed in front of his father. Todd becomes concerned that his son doesn't have the drive to bring in audiences. If Phoenix fails, the Freakshow may not be able to expand to a second location. Back at the Freakshow, Asia worries that she may fall and possibly cut herself during her machete stunt. She says the stunt is "very very painful" but is determined to pull it off for the big day. Phoenix begins his "talking" debut with a minor flub, but quickly wins the crowd back and introduces the Freakshow gang. Inside, Asia wows the crowd by ascending the ladder of machetes and opening up an umbrella at the top. Morgue also flawlessly performs his "The Human Fountain" regurgitation stunt in which he projects a stream of red liquid from the bottom of his stomach across the stage. In the end, Todd is pleased to have passed his legacy on to his son and feels confident that he will be able to go forward and expand the Freakshow.
- Todd announces that he and some members of the Freakshow have been invited to The Magic Castle, a famed club for magicians in Los Angeles. The tour will be conducted by Max Maven, an acclaimed magician and mentalist who Morgue considers to be one of the best in the business. Todd, Phoenix, Creature and Morgue arrive at The Magic Castle where Max Maven brings them through various rooms and shows off magician memorabilia. One item in particular, a milk can used by Houdini during his famous escape tricks, catches Todd's eye. Todd decides that he wants the Freakshow to incorporate an escape artist stunt as a tribute to Houdini. At the Freakshow, Danielle is concerned that Asia has changed since getting her own apartment. She has been dressing differently, has a darker attitude and doesn't keep in contact with her friends or family. Asia says that she has discovered her true self through her new "dark" style and hopes that her mother will respect that. With family tension in the air, Todd decides that he, Phoenix, Danielle and Asia should go to Vegas for a family vacation. He also plans to scout out new locations for the Freakshow expansion while in Vegas. While on vacation, Asia and Danielle are still experiencing some tension in their relationship. Danielle apologizes to Asia and the pair decide that they need to communicate better. As the family explores Vegas, Todd spots some space for rent at the Circus Circus casino and thinks that it could work as a new location for the Freakshow. Back in Venice Beach, the Freakshow is getting under way. To honor Houdini's legacy, Todd has enlisted his friend Harley Newman to perform a death-defying escape act. Encased in nearly half a mile of plastic wrap, Harley attempts to escape from a cocoon-like prison. To make the trick even more dangerous, Todd places a cork on the snorkel that Harvey uses to breathe while encased in the plastic wrap. As the crowd watches, Harley breaks free from the cocoon after being trapped inside without air for nearly five minutes. Todd is happy that his lifelong dream of bringing "real" magic and wonder to the Freakshow is finally coming true.
- Todd gathers the Freakshow gang for a big announcement - he plans to open a second Freakshow in Las Vegas! In order to wow the heads of the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino, Todd decides to bring the Freakshow members with him to Sin City. As he, Asia and Morgue discuss the expansion, Todd reveals plans to separate Asia and Morgue and have one perform in Vegas while the other stays in Venice Beach. The time has come to meet with the Circus Circus execs. Todd explains how he believes that the Freakshow would be a perfect fit within Circus Circus and could become the number one attraction at the hotel. He then introduces the Freakshow performers one by one to the assembled board members. Mr. Thrasher, the president of hotel, is skeptical that a Freakshow would work in Vegas given the amount of competition for audience dollars and turns down Todd's proposal. On the brink of tears, Todd is shocked and devastated by their decision. At the hotel restaurant, Todd and the Freakshow gang receive a lot of attention and pose for photos with fans. Todd thinks that the Circus Circus execs should see the Freakshow onstage with an audience in order to get the full effect of what a beneficial addition they would be. Todd sets up one final meeting with the executives in the hopes that his plan will change their mind. The Freakshow members then hit the Vegas strip to stir up buzz for the show. Meanwhile, Morgue and Asia discuss their reservations about working in separate locations. They agree that they share a connection and aren't ready to be separated. The next day, the Circus Circus execs arrive for their meeting with Todd. A parade of freaks enter the hotel and lead a huge audience to a main stage. Asia performs her firebreathing act while Morgue surpasses his usual Venice Beach routine by performing a stunt using two meat hooks. The impromptu show wows the crowd as well as the gathered execs. Convinced that the Freakshow can bring in a crowd, Mr. Thrasher decides to make a deal with Todd to bring the show to Vegas.
