Alec Baldwin’s troubled Western Rust is getting its world premiere at Poland’s Camerimage Film Festival, but its star likely won’t walk the red carpet. Rust, and by extension, Baldwin, have been hot topics in Hollywood after the fatal on-set shooting of Ukranian cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. In addition to screening the film, the fest plans to hold a panel discussion with the film’s director, Joel Souza, cinematographer Bianca Cline, and Hutchins’ longtime mentor, Stephen Lighthill. Those interested in the behind-the-scenes drama for Rust should look forward to the filmmakers answering some pointed questions during the panel.
According to Deadline, the panel will feature the individuals mentioned above discussing how the film continued production after Hutchins’ tragic death. The panel also includes an in-depth discussion about the importance of women in cinematography and how other filmmakers can keep their sets safe.

Here are five recommendations you can stream on Screambox right now.
King of the Ants
While Stuart Gordon cemented himself as a master of horror with early works like Re-Animator and From Beyond, his later output is also worthy of exploration. 2003’s King of the Ants kicked off a trio of intense thrillers (alongside Edmond and Stuck) that would end up being Gordon’s final features. It was also one of the first productions from The Asylum, who would go on to create Sharknado, Z Nation, and Black Summer.
Based on the 1992 novel by Charlie Higson, who also wrote the screenplay, the film’s unusual structure makes it unpredictable. Struggling to make ends meet,...

Take it outside, Jake Gyllenhaal — there was already a “Road House 2.” And it was awful.
The Og “Road House” starring Patrick Swayze came out in 1989 and made $30 million at the box office — a nice return on investment back in the day. Naturally, MGM struck while the iron was hot: a scant 17 years later, the studio released a straight-to-dvd sequel, “Road House 2: Last Call” (2006). Exactly 17 more years later, I went straight to Vudu to buy it. I did not get a good Roi on my $9.99.
Look, I knew what I was getting into. Like you, I didn’t realize there was a “Road House 2” until Doug Liman made a “Road House 3.”
Still the only “Road House” to get a theatrical release, the Swayze flick ended up doing most of its damage on home entertainment. The film isn’t well-reviewed — it has a 41 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 36 on...

“We’re in the mood for a little vivisection.”
We’ve all heard the saying “less is more.” Marie Kondo championed this minimalist sentiment when convincing us to rid our homes of unwanted items and Coco Chanel lived by the rule of taking one accessory off before leaving the house. We’re not sure Peter Jackson has ever heard this saying as his films tend to be extravaganzas filled with lavish plotting, eccentric characters, and over-the-top effects. And we’re not mad about it. Years before he wowed the world with expansive adaptations of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings and a mammoth remake of the 1933 classic King Kong, Jackson honed his delightful excesses in the horror genre culminating in the 1996 splatstick comedy The Frighteners.

Scalper doesn’t tell a particularly original story but it doesn’t really need to because it is definitely going for a modern take on the eighties slasher. In the movie we discover that everyone around the psychic Clementine Carter (Susan Priver) is being murdered by a masked killer dubbed ‘The Scalper’. She must use her psychic abilities (and occasional help from the police) to work out if this is a copycat killer or the murderer Andrew Lubitz back from the dead.
Scalper goes right for it with its pretty unpleasant and brutal first scene. We watch a man get stabbed from behind, and then repeatedly stabbed in the ass, until he is very close to death, at which point the killer uses the same knife to...

Paul Verhoeven's 1997 war satire "Starship Troopers" was initially greeted with skepticism from audiences and critics alike. Set in a distant future where humanity is engaged in a seemingly permanent war with outsize intelligent insects, Verhoeven made extensive use of clear-throated, pro-military propaganda and clothed his all-too-attractive cast in Nazi-like regalia. With its glorified violence and deliberately idiotic bluster, "Starship Troopers" was very clearly meant to read as a parody of actual fascist filmmaking as seen in Nazi films like Leni Riefenstahl's 1935 film "The Triumph of the Will" and her 1938 film "Olympia." Despite its satirical tone, some critics described "Troopers" as being aggressively pro-fascist, and accused Verhoeven of selling the very military mindset he worked so hard to eschew.
Although the film would go on to make over 120 million at the box office, "Starship Troopers" was considered something of a "lesser" film in 1997, and wasn't held in very high regard.

“Pain don’t hurt” is one of the many bits of cheesy dialogue from Road House, and it’s a perfect example of why this film is now regarded as a cult classic. Dalton (Patrick Swayze) blurts it to Doc (Kelly Lynch) as she’s stapling shut his knife wound. Dalton refuses anesthesia with that cool, ridiculous pick-up line, and it’s not long afterwards that he beds Doc because who could even resist that?
Road House came out in 1989 and earned 30 million at the box office from a budget of 15 million, according to Variety. But like so many cult films of the era, it found new life on the small screen. In 2020, Road House was named the most-played movie on basic cable, beating out Jumanji, Gladiator, and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective which placed second, third, and fourth respectively.

Communication is the key to successful first contact scenarios. The empathic relationship that language can create between two dissimilar peoples is a source of optimism in both in fiction and in real life. Consider, if you will, Denis Villeneuve's 2016 film, "Arrival." It may not be the first big movie about forging a connection between humans and aliens, but the way that its story never loses its focus on linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams) allows that link to feel bigger and more poignant because of how personal it becomes.
What Banks discovers is that humanity must evolve, so that we can save others at some future date, and that language is the key to doing so. It's a poignant lesson, as we realize that, in learning it, Dr. Banks must face her destiny with her eyes wide open, fully aware of what she'll lose. It's also painful, because so much...

Small thief and parolee Max Dembo is pinned in a parole system that all but guarantees he’ll go back to robbing banks and jewelry stores. Dustin Hoffman has one of his best and most unusual roles, taken from the story of a real bank robber. Directed by Ulu Grosbard, the docu-drama look at the seedy side of Los Angeles is graced with a perfect cast: Theresa Russell, Gary Busey, Harry Dean Stanton, M. Emmet Walsh, and Kathy Bates. Sure, the rotten parole officer drives Dembo back to crime, but pulling jobs is in his blood. It’s one of the best portraits of a criminal ever.

Now that everyone has properly run through Stranger Things season three, we're already thinking about season four. To the relief of fans everywhere, Netflix confirmed that the series is returning for a fourth installment on Sept. 30, with the show's official Twitter page dropping an announcement video revealing "We're not in Hawkins anymore." It's ominous and incredibly intriguing, just like we expect!
The hit Netflix series took almost two years between its second and third seasons, so what we're really wondering now is if there will be the same kind of gap before the fourth season. We already have several theories about how season four will go down - we just need a premiere date to start nailing down the realistic ones! Hopefully, we won't be waiting years to find out what's next for our favorite Hawkins residents.

"Team Dally & Spanky!" From the "I can't believe this is really real" collection. Sony Pictures has debuted a trailer for an adorable, campy movie titled Adventures of Dally & Spanky, the feature debut of director Camille Stochitch. The "family-friendly film" tells the story of the friendship between Dally and Spanky, a miniature horse and a miniature Jack Russell Terrier. Yes, of course, this is actually based on the real-life friendship between these two. There is not much of a plot, but they do eventually bring this dog and horse combo to Hollywood in hopes of winning a live TV talent show. The film stars Brenna D'Amico, Reylynn Caster, Elaine Hendrix, Timothy Hornor, Trace Adkins, Brielle Barbusca, Kylee Russell, Jake Busey, Alexie Gilmore, and Denise Richards. Swamp Thing Episode 10
And so we have reached the end of the road, or garden path, for Swamp Thing. After 10 consistently good episodes, the series finale is dirty, but largely paydirt – even though the unceremonious early cancellation still rots.
Titled “Loose Ends” the episode attempts to precisely tie them all up. For the most part the mission succeeds, but it’s a rushed affair. Following the events of last week’s episode, which felt messy to this reviewer, we pick up with Abby, Swamp Thing, and Alec Holland’s skeletal remains.
Their dialogue about whether the creature is a copy of consciousness with “memories stolen from a dead man” or the presence of the man Abby once knew is compelling. It...

There's a new lifeguard at the community pool in Hawkins named Heather, played by Francesca Reale, and besides working with the sketchy Billy, she's at the center of the dark mystery that plagues the town in the third installation of Stranger Things. Along with Mayor Larry Kline (Cary Elwes) and Bruce (Jake Busey), she's one of the latest additions to the delightfully creepy series. While she might be a new kid on the block, the actress behind Heather is no stranger to the Netflix universe.

The Upside Down came to Santa Monica High School and the Santa Monica Pier on Friday night when Netflix hosted the world premiere of Stranger Things 3. The streaming giant went all-out to give an immersive experience by transforming Santa Monica High into the fictional Hawkins High School from the series created by Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer — but there was no Demogorgon in sight.
The black carpet was taken over by Hawkins High School cheerleaders and a marching band before the cast members came out to screaming fans who were waiting to catch a glimpse of Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Priah Ferguson and the robust ensemble cast that also included new members Cary Elwes, Jake Busey and Maya Hawke.
The new season takes place in 1985 and our favorite pre-teens from Hawkins, Indiana have grown a lot since...

The promo is super cheesy and has that old fuzzy 80s commercial style, but it also hints that something more sinister is coming to Hawkins. Check out the video below:
this summer will be totally fun and not scary at all pic.twitter.com/jtLITiCDJJ
