Season seven of Riverdale kicks off with an interesting start. We’ve seen the kids go from being high schoolers to graduating and seeing their adult lives, only to be thrown back into the 50s as teenagers again. An interesting take that will allow for creative opportunities to take place. Jughead is the only character that remembers their past lives. Life was a lot different in the 50s compared to today. While the show follows some fun 50s aesthetics, such as the opening with characters appearing on screen with big smiles, it touches on the dark parts as well. There is no perfect decade, and while the past may seem better, nostalgia has people focus on the good times, forgetting the bad. “It must be pretty embarrassing needing a babysitter in high school,” someone once told the 14-year-old at the heart of My Babysitter’s a Vampire. Being stuck with a sitter on a Friday night would definitely be mortifying for just about any teenager. However, Ethan Morgan (Matthew Knight) changed his tune when the most popular senior girl from school, Sarah Fox (Vanessa Morgan), arrived at his house that fateful evening. This schoolboy’s elation soon became abject terror as his caregiver was revealed to be a bloodsucking creature of the night. As it turned out though, Sarah was no ordinary vampire; she refused human blood and was intent on spending what looked to be her final days slaying her own kind.

Considering all the TV shows The CW has already canceled or wrapped up in the second half of 2023 and in 2024, fans weren't too optimistic about the upcoming season. If the network went as hard as breaking its 20-year bond with Jared Padalecki, waving goodbye to the star's Walker, others stood even less of a chance.
There is one show, however, that managed to get a renewal from the network. The CW's own crime procedural Wild Cards, starring Vanessa Morgan and Giacomo Gianniotti, will return to viewers' screens in early 2025.
Wild Cards Season 2 Premiere Date
While there is no exact premiere date for the show, there are some details that point to its return in the first half of 2025.
First, The CW has already announced its schedule for the upcoming season, which leaves little room for the second season of Wild Cards. Second, according to the official statement, the second season will be 13 episodes,...

Canadian procedural Wild Cards is coming back for a second season on The CW.
The renewal news came this morning as originating broadcaster CBC renewed the show and unveiled it at its Upfronts.
It marks a bit of good news for The CW, which canceled Walker earlier this week, while Canadian drama The Spencer Sisters, which it also aired, was canceled at CTV.
The show, stars Grey’s Anatomy’s Giacomo Gianniotti, Riverdale’s Vanessa Morgan and Jason Priestley, has been one of The CW’s stronger performers over the last year.
Earlier this month, The CW’s President of Entertainment Brad Schwartz told Deadline that he was keen to bring back the show for more episodes.

Canadian procedural Wild Cards has been one of The CW’s stronger performers over the last twelve months.
It was somewhat surprising, then, that the show which stars Grey’s Anatomy’s Giacomo Gianniotti, Riverdale’s Vanessa Morgan and Jason Priestley, hasn’t been quickly snapped up for a second season.
The CW’s President of Entertainment Brad Schwartz told Deadline in February that the network was in conversations with Blink49 Studios about more episodes coming to the network.
Those talks are still ongoing, but the suggestion is very much that it will continue on The CW.
“You’ll probably be hearing more announcements from us very soon,” he told Deadline this morning. “That show did great. It grew 10% versus what The Flash did in the same spot the year before. So, here we are beating shows that everyone’s very romantic about. We’d very much like to renew that one.

Cannes stood up for Daniel Brühl, as his new Disney+ show “Becoming Karl Lagerfeld” earned a 3-minute standing ovation on Sunday.
Premiering out of competition, it captures the late German designer before morphing into the instantly recognizable figure that took pop culture by storm. And, courted by young Jacques de Bascher (Théodore Pellerin), finally opening up for love.
Local viewers enjoyed the spectacle, laughing at Lagerfeld’s awkwardness or at Yves Saint Laurent’s (Arnaud Valois) clumsy attempts at romancing de Bascher. The verdict? A “fun” and “entertaining” new show, declared Canneseries audience members, happy to share their enthusiasm with Variety even despite the language barrier: “C’est genial!”
The screening, which started with a joyful fashion show similar to Lagerfeld’s collection for Chloé in the 1970s – spotlighted in the first episode – attracted just about every celebrity in town. Including “Beverly Hills, 90210” alumni Jason Priestley and “Riverdale’s” Vanessa Morgan,...

Vanessa Morgan isn’t saying goodbye to The CW any time soon. After spending over six years portraying Southside Serpent Toni Topaz on the network’s quirky Archie Comics-inspired teen drama Riverdale, the actress has found a home on a new CW series: Wild Cards.
The Canadian-American series, which is co-produced with CBS and currently airs weekly, is part crime-solving procedural, part comedy, and part will-they/won’t-they? romance. Morgan stars as Max Mitchell, a clever and charismatic con artist who teams up with no-nonsense cop Cole Ellis (Giacomo Gianniotti) to solve crimes in exchange for staying out of jail.

Wild Cards, a Canadian police procedural, has become a surprise hit for The CW.
The series, which stars Grey’s Anatomy’s Giacomo Gianniotti, Riverdale’s Vanessa Morgan and Jason Priestley, launched in January.
It has been averaging over 500,000 in the live overnights, per Nielsen, which The CW President of Entertainment Brad Schwartz says will likely go to around 1M over the first seven days.
This is what constitutes a hit for the network. “That’s a nice success for us. If we can do seven nights a week with a million viewers, that would be goal number one, then two million,” he told Deadline.
Related: When To Expect Return of ‘All American’ & ‘Walker’ Plus Other New Series On The CW
Schwartz added that he has already begun discussing a second season of the show, which comes from Blink49 Studios.
“We have not renewed it yet but that is a conversation that’s happening right now.

Sometimes criminals know the right people to help the cops, as is the case on Wild Cards, the new procedural with a comedic twist coming to The CW on January 17. TV Insider has an exclusive sneak peek at recurring guest star Jason Priestley as George, a conman in prison, getting a visit from Detective Cole Ellis (Giacomo Gianniotti) and the con woman working with him, Max Mitchell (Vanessa Morgan) — and a couple of them are in for a surprise. The guard, Davis, who got some helpful advice from Max in the past, informs him that doesn’t apply to them. “I’m a cop,” Max tells George. (Cole says she’s not.) She doesn’t have a badge “yet.” She’ll have a gun “soon.
