Netflix was a major innovator in the modern era of media. Not only were they the godfather of streaming as we know it, but they also shifted the paradigm by getting into original programming with shows like "House of Cards" in 2013. In the years since, Netflix has spent literally billions on various movies and TV shows. Some of them, beloved though they may have been by certain viewers, have fallen through the cracks and fallen victim to the sheer volume of things to watch on the service. Such was the case with the sci-fi series "Travelers," which debuted in 2016 and ran for three seasons before being canceled in 2019. The show's creator did try to bring it back from the dead, albeit unsuccessfully.

This isn’t your typical Hallmark love story. In The More Love Grows (premiering August 18 at 9/8c on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries), Rachel Boston stars as Helen, whose husband Paul (Patrick Gilmore) unexpectedly tells her he wants a separation after they move their daughter Aly (Roan Curtis) into her college dorm. As Helen deals with that, a stray dog turns up on her doorstep, which leads her to veterinarian Ben (Warren Christie) … and possibly new love? Heather Hawthorn Doyle, who directed the film (and many others for Hallmark), shares what makes The More Love Grows stand out. What makes this movie stand out from others on Hallmark? Heather Hawthorn Doyle: The More Love Grows to me is such a beautiful film because it’s a multi-generational story. Maddie (Peyton List) is desperate to find out why Mr. Anderson has cash stuffed in his wall, and why he believes he gave her some, as Paramount+’s School Spirits episode four opens. Class is underway as Maddie tries to figure out how to get into his phone. Remember, School Spirits‘ ghost rules allow the dead to manipulate items without the living realizing they’ve been moved. Mr. Anderson has no idea Maddie’s got his phone and is trying out passwords.
She begs Simon (Kristian Flores) to tell Mr. Anderson (Patrick Gilmore) to check his email. But Simon knows that would look weird and doesn’t comply. Instead, he seizes the opportunity as the bell rings to grab Mr. Anderson’s phone without being seen and races from the classroom.

There will be no fourth season for Travelers. Netflix has cancelled the sci-fi series after three seasons. Star Eric McCormack revealed the news Friday via social media.
“A lot of you have been asking about the possibility of a season four, but many of you have been saying, ‘Look, if this is it, what a moving and surprising and profound ending it is,’” McCormack wrote. “Well, I’m afraid it is. Who knows what the future holds, but Travelers Program 1, as we call it, is complete … Much love from 3468 in the 21st.”
Created by Brad Wright, and starring McCormack, Travelers is set hundreds of years from now when the last surviving humans discover the means of sending consciousness back through time, directly into people in the 21st century. These “travelers” assume the lives of seemingly random people, while secretly working as teams to perform missions in order to save humanity from a terrible future.

Travelers season 3 brought the story of future operatives trying to avoid a cataclysm to an unexpected conclusion — what does it all mean?
Warning: This article contains major spoilers for the entirety of Travelers season 3!
Travelers season 3 played a dangerous game in its finale by introducing a reset that could either pay off with an innovative re-imagining of the journey to the “Twenty-First” or alienate viewers by undoing all of the relationships, consequences, and tragic deaths of the past few years. But perhaps a reset was necessary. Sneak Peek "Travelers", the post-apocalyptic future series created by Brad Wright, starring Eric McCormack, Mackenzie Porter, Jared Abrahamson, Nesta Cooper, Reilly Dolman and Patrick Gilmore, debuting Season 3 on Netflix December 14, 2018:
"...in a post-apocalyptic future, thousands of special 'operatives' are tasked with preventing the collapse of society. These operatives, known as 'travelers', have their consciousnesses sent back in time and transferred into the body of present-day individuals who would otherwise be moments from death, to minimize unexpected impact on the timeline.
"The transfer requires the exact location of the target, made possible by twenty-first century smart phones and Gps. Prepared using social media and public records concerning their targets, each traveler must maintain the host's pre-existing life as cover for the rest of their lives, while carrying out missions in teams of five.
"These missions are dictated by the 'Director', an artificial intelligence in the future that monitors the timeline,...

Hello, fellow Traveler. Welcome back to the 21st. (“Century” that is.)
Netflix’s sci-fi series returns for its third season on Dec. 14, hitting just in time for Christmas bingeing. In the Canadian series, operatives called Travelers from the future have been sent back to the 21st century in order to carry out various missions set out by the Director in order to hopefully prevent the future calamities that are endangering the human race. The operative takes over the contemporary host body just seconds before that person is supposed to die and then takes over their life as a cover.
When last we left the operative Grant McLaren (Eric McCormack) and his team – Marcy (MacKenzie Porter), Carly (Nesta Cooper), Trevor (Jared Abrahamsson), and Philip Pearson (Reilly Dolman) – they’d been outmaneuvered to reveal their true identities by the very first operative ever, Traveler 001. He previously had taken the body of host...

The fight for the future will continue on Netflix with the December arrival of Travelers season 3, and we've got the latest trailer.
Travelers Season 3 will continue the mission to save the future as the series was officially renewed by Netflix, but interestingly not by Showcase, which originally produced the show in Canada. Lead actor and producer Eric McCormack made the announcement on Twitter on March 15, 2018, and even revealed that he's directing the Travelers Season 3 premiere.
Executive producers Brad Wright and Carrie Mudd also spoke about the show's departure from Showcase, saying, “We'd like to add our gratitude to our viewers in Canada on Showcase - as well as the Corus and Sky Vision teams - for two extraordinary seasons. We are excited to start shooting Season 3 this March in Vancouver, and to continue the Travelers story for fans in Canada and around the world, only on Netflix.

The first trailer has been released for a new post-apocalyptic action film called Scorched Earth. The story is set in a future where the world has been destroyed by an environmental collapse. The film stars Gina Carano as a bounty hunter who is on a mission to take down a ruthless outlaw.
This looks like a made for TV movie that you would find on the SyFy Channel. There's a market for those kinds of films, but I don't think it looks that good. Maybe it will interest some of you, though. Here's the synopsis:
The planet has suffered an environmental collapse; the air became dangerous to breathe, the water became toxic, and billions of people died. Generations later, mankind has finally re-established a rudimentary society, in an attempt to pick up the pieces that continue to blister in the sun. Attica Gage (Gina Carano) is a bounty hunter with...

"What makes you so different than the bounties you drag in here?" An official trailer has debuted online for a post-apocalyptic sci-fi action movie titled Scorched Earth, from actor-turned-director Peter Howitt. Set in a future where Earth has been ravaged (scorched?) and destroyed, the story follows a bounty hunter, played by Gina Carano, who gets into some major trouble when she tries to bring down a ruthless outlaw. This seems like such an odd, unoriginal mashup of bounty hunters, post-apocalyptic tropes, and maybe a bit of sci-fi, but not really. The full cast includes John Hannah, Stephanie Bennett, Alisha Newton, Ryan Robbins, Nathan Mitchell, and Patrick Gilmore. I hate to be so blunt, but this looks like a really terrible made-for-tv SyFy film. I'm really not that interested in seeing this, but check it out below anyway. While “Travelers” first debuted on Netflix last year right before Christmas, it returns for its second season the day after, timed perfectly for the lull between Christmas and New Year’s. While the show has evolved some since the beginning, it still maintains its most satisfying qualities: an exploration of the human condition in all of its messy glory, and depictions of the most ingenious, yet disturbing means of time travel on screen.
A quick recap before diving into the new season: Operatives called Travelers from the future have been sent back to the 21st century in order to carry out various missions set out by the Director, in order to hopefully present the future calamities that are endangering the human race. The operative takes over the contemporary host body just seconds before that person is supposed to die and then takes over their life as a cover.

2016 is fast drawing to a close, but there’s still enough time for an original Netflix series to make its premiere. And so, following the recent stealth release of Zal Batmanglij’s sci-fi mystery The Oa, the online streamer is on the verge of debuting Travelers.
Cut from the same sci-fi cloth as The Oa, Travelers is a 12-part series hatched by Brad Wright, best known for his work across both Stargate Sg-1 and Stargate: Atlantis. Set in the distant future, the elevator pitch involves a crack team of Travelers who possess the ability to send someone’s consciousness back in time to inhabit a body in the 21st century – think of Wolverine’s jaunt back in time from Days of Future Past.

Netflix has released the first trailer for a new, interesting, and original series that they've developed called Travelers. The series stars Eric McCormack (Will & Grace) as an FBI agent who leads a group of time bandit travelers on a mission to save the future.
