- As it appears, someone is going to great lengths to remind Brett and Danny of the perils of the exciting world of motor racing, while in the meantime, the stinging innuendos of a grudge behind all this, will become a certainty.
- After Brett enters his car for a motor race, attempts are made on his life. A man called Vine approaches him, asking him to throw the race. He is working for Louise Cornell, head of a race-fixing gang, but she denies any allegations of trying to kill him - she just bribes people to lose. Could the would-be assassin be Jenkins, a former racer who, after an incident years earlier where he tried to overtake Brett, leading to an accident which incapacitated him, was never able to drive again?—don @ minifie-1
- As it appears, someone is playing games with Brett, going to great lengths to remind him and Danny the perils of the exciting world of motor racing after investing a small fortune on the Sinclair Special, a lightning of a Formula 1 racing car and a true record breaker. First, there was a fruitless attempt to run Brett over, then, ghastly death notes explicitly announcing that his life ends before Saturday, and the pièce de résistance, a grim cardboard coffin reserved for Lord Brett's miniature model figure complete with his photo and flowers. Without a single doubt, this certain someone needs desperately next Saturday's race to be fixed, while in the meantime, as reporter Carrie Bowman's big exposé on the subject is on its way and the attempts on Brett's life become more sinister by the day, the stinging innuendos of a grudge behind all this, will become a certainty.—Nick Riganas
