Denzel Washington, one of the best actors of his generation, has been on a hot streak ever since he began acting in films in 1981. He had turned in dozens of great, memorable performances, typically playing stalwart, principled, and confident characters; it's rare that you'll find Washington playing a sniveling, weak-willed man. His role in Antoine Fuqua's 2001 cop drama "Training Day" was an aberration for Washington, as his character, Detective Alonzo Harris, committed open acts of violent corruption. He was the villain of the piece and a man who needed to be taught a lesson by his rookie sidekick, the overwhelmed Jake Hoyt, played by Ethan Hawke.
Despite his villainy, however, Alonzo was also a principled character who believed his violent corruption was ultimately an effective tool against his city's criminal underworld. "They build jails because of me," he says at one point. "Judges have handed out over 15,000 man-years of...

Rapper NextYoungin revealed the inspiration for her persona Daddy Kaine as well as her newer persona Baddie Kaine.
The hip-hop artist’s recent album, Daddy 2 Baddie featured a different sound than her prior music. NextYoungin thought through what went into distinguishing her new album (particularly the track “Different”) from her previous work.
“With Different it’s kind of two stories mixed into one song. So with ‘Different,’ it’s just me talking about me wanting something different for myself and trying something different. Before, my followers and other people saw me as the Daddy Kaine persona, but now I’m coming more into my Baddie Kaine persona musically; you know what I’m saying? Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers for the entirety of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder.
The image of the red threads that stitch together the title of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder on Holly Jackson’s U.S. book cover hints at the complicated ending of the story, which has been adapted into a television series by the BBC.
The six episodes, which launched on Netflix August 1, follows titular “good girl” Pippa Fitz-Amobi (Emma Myers) as she revisits the murder of Andie Bell (India Lillie Davies), which was pinned on Andie’s boyfriend at the time, Salil Singh (Rahul Pattni) who went by Sal. Shortly after Andie first went missing, Sal was said to have committed suicide, and the a text message confession to committing the murder from his phone made him culpable.

When we think of royal weddings, we think of beautiful, large-scale events that resemble something out of a storybook. But not all royal weddings are created equal.
Some are grand affairs televised all over the world, while others are low-key ceremonies held at modest churches and do not end with a procession through the streets. That was the case with the late Queen Elizabeth‘s oldest granddaughter, Zara, who married rugby player Mike Tindall on July 30, 2011.
Instead of tying the knot at Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s Cathedral, or St. George’s Chapel, Princess Anne‘s daughter didn’t even get married in England. She also didn’t recieve a wedding present from the queen that both Kate and Meghan got.
What Queen Elizabeth gave Kate and Meghan when they got married that she didn’t give Zara Zara and Mike Tindall following their wedding at Canongate Kirk, in Edinburgh,...

“I’ve been wasting my youth on you,” Joshua Bassett sings on his debut studio album, The Golden Years. Much of the 23-year-old Disney actor-singer’s previous releases, including his 2022 EPs Sad Songs in a Hotel Room and Different, consist of lovelorn songs about the sudden end of a romantic entanglement or returning to a relationship that he knows isn’t good for him. He continues to reliably lean on similar themes here.
Bassett peppers The Golden Years with nuggets of wisdom that are wise beyond his years. The album’s title track suggests that we should hold on tight to those we love during our so-called glory days, because we never know how long it might last. The song also poignantly captures that unique period in youth that disappears before we can even greet it properly: “Four years gone by in the blind of an eye/We were young...

Taylor Swift might have just confirmed a theory!
The 34-year-old singer-songwriter has seemingly signed off on a Swiftie’s theory, connecting 2022′s Midnights to 2024′s The Tortured Poets Department.
On her song “Fortnight” on the new album, Taylor sings: “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me.”
Keep reading to find out more…
On the last song on Midnights, “Hits Different,” she asks “Is that your key in the door / Is it Ok? / Is it you? / Or have they come to take me away?”
User Patty Eminger pointed out what seems to be a clear link between the two, adding: “The album is just pure mania, and I heard someone describe it as ‘Tolerate It’ [from 2020’s Evermore] on meth, and I was like, ‘Perfect, just what I wanted.’”
Plenty of the Swifties in the comments agreed, and pointed out that Taylor “liked” the video, thus seemingly confirming his theory.

Comparing Box Office Collection Of Maidaan, Chak De India & Gold ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
It has been five days, and Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan has shown little improvement over the weekend, coming down crashing on the first Monday itself. In five days, the film will stand somewhere in the range of 23.5 crore to 24 crore. Despite releasing on Eid, it has not been able to cross the 25 crore mark at the box office,
Interestingly, helmed by Amit Sharma, the biopic on Syed Abdul Rahim has been receiving a lot of praise and love. In fact, when compared to other biopics and sports films, it stands very tall.
Despite its Eid clashes, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is performing better than Maidaan at the box office, and Ajay Devgn’s sports drama has commanded respect rightfully. But all the love, affection, and praise has unfortunately not translated into decent numbers at the box office.

For the second weekend in a row, Universal and Blumhouse's video game adaptation "Five Nights at Freddy's" remained atop the box office charts. Granted, this past weekend didn't bring much by way of significant competition, with Meg Ryan's low-budget rom-com "What Happens Later" and A24's Priscilla Presley biopic "Priscilla" entering the fold. On paper, topping the charts for two weekends looks great, but "Five Nights at Freddy's" did take a nosedive in its second frame, dropping a whopping 76%. Why the big tumble? It appears Peacock is to blame.
The adaptation from director Emma Tammi took in an estimated $19.4 million on its second weekend in theaters. That's a steep decline compared to the $80 million opening the horror flick posted over Halloween weekend. Now, let's be clear before we get into the weeds here: nobody is crying for Universal or Blumhouse. The film carries a budget in the $20-25 million...

In the seventh episode of "Futurama," called "My Three Suns", Hermes Conrad (Phil Lamarr) finally notices that Bender (John Dimaggio) the alcoholic robot, doesn't really seem to fulfill any specific function at Planet Express. Rather than face a cut in his salary, Bender proposes to be the company chef. This is an issue for two reasons. First, Bender has no skill whatsoever in the culinary arts, and second, Bender has no sense of taste. His inaugural meal as the company chef is a salted slug served with glasses of salt water. The reaction from a disgusted Fry (Billy West) says it all, "That's the saltiest thing I've ever tasted! And I once ate a big heaping bowl of salt!" Bender defends himself by saying that the salt levels were fine, being 10% less than a lethal dose.

Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s character in The Terminator might have had a surprising impression on audiences. So James Cameron felt he had the opportunity to address the Terminator’s troubling public image in the sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
James Cameron was worried about audience’s perception of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator James Cameron | Leon Bennett/Getty Images
The idea for Cameron’s first Terminator film came in a dream. Speaking to BFI, Cameron remembered conceiving the idea while he was sick with a high fever. He saw an image of a chrome skeleton, which would later become the basis for The Terminator, and began drawing the picture immediately.
“The first sketch I did showed a metal skeleton cut in half at the waist, crawling over a tile floor, using a large kitchen knife to pull itself forward while reaching out with the other hand. In a second drawing, the character is threatening a crawling woman.

The first trailer for "The Batman," which launched at the inaugural DC FanDome event back in 2020, might be the most incredible trailer I've ever seen. At least, the trailer that got me the most excited to see a film. From the somber-toned needle drop of Nirvana's "Something In The Way," you could feel every skeptic be collectively converted. This was positioned to be a Batman unlike any other, and things only got better from there with a teaser building toward a heart-stopping moment, when the music drops and Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight mercilessly beats a random miscreant into the ground.
I must have rewatched that trailer a few dozen times, and even found myself sucked into YouTube's reaction video community. Everything about this Batman seemed fresh yet faithful to the character's essence. At some point during my endless rewatching, I noticed there was more to the Nirvana...

"Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania" is in theaters, and audiences seem to be divided on one character from the film. If social media is anything to go by, people are split on M.O.D.O.K.'s appearance. This classic comic book character was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and first appeared in "Tales of Suspense" #93 in 1967. M.O.D.O.K. has different origin stories in the comics, the first being George Tarleton, a man who used to work for Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.), which was an arms-dealing company employing advanced technology. He was mutated through an experiment that was trying to increase his intelligence. It worked, but it also shrunk his body and gave him a giant head, forcing him to float around in a hover chair.

When writer-director Todd Field first asked editor Monika Willi to collaborate on “TÁR,” the plan was to edit in Vienna, where Willi lives. “We both have young children at home and made the decision that only one of us should suffer,” Field told IndieWire. By the time production wrapped in December 2021, however, Austria was locked down due to a Covid surge, and London — the next choice for Field and Willi’s home base — followed in January. This led to a decision that would fundamentally alter Field and Willi’s circumstances in a way that ultimately gave them greater focus and discipline than they could ever have had editing in more conventional surroundings.
“We made the decision that we would go somewhere very remote,” Field said, “so we ended up about 45 minutes outside of Edinburgh, Scotland, in a 15th-century former nunnery.” Away from their families and limited in their contact with the outside world,...

Psychics Predicted Paul Abdul’s Life-Changing ‘American Idol’ Journey Three Years Before It Happened
Paula Abdul had a fantastic career before finding her seat at the American Idol judge’s table in 2002. She was a Laker Girl, an in-demand choreographer, and a multi-platinum recording artist. However, working on a reality competition series wasn’t on her radar. Her career was in flux when two psychics predicted she would experience a life-changing role on a new television series three years before Idol happened.

One day in 1992, Angélique Kidjo walked into a magazine editor’s office and found herself being introduced over the phone to one of her all-time favorite artists.
“Someone said, ‘Mrs. Kidjo, Mr. Brown wants to talk to you,’” she recalls. In stunned disbelief, she replied, “Yeah, and I’m Mother Teresa.” But it really was James Brown, the Godfather of Soul himself, asking to talk to her.
“I almost dropped the phone,” she continues. “He was speaking, and I couldn’t understand, so I started singing. He picked up the...

Sza has paired her hit single “Good Days” with a psychedelic new music video directed by the singer.
In the visual, a dreaming Sza envisions she is a magic mushroom growing in the forest, dancing among the other fungi and spraying spores; that footage is juxtaposed with Sza pole-dancing in a library stacked high with books.
“[Point of view]: I’m a plant living growing and dying .. also on shrooms,” Sza tweeted of the video.
The still-sleeping Sza eventually moves on from her trip and winds up at a gas station where...

In a near-perfect twist of fate, Sza will perform her hit track “Drew Barrymore” on the actor’s new daytime talk show on Oct. 1. Following the performance, the artist will sit down with the host for an interview on “The Drew Barrymore Show” on CBS.
The music video for “Drew Barrymore,” from Sza’s 2017 breakout album “Ctrl,” even featured a brief cameo from the actor.
The artist’s first studio album included 14 songs that depart from traditional R&b leanings. With all tracks co-written by Sza, “Ctrl” featured guest appearances from Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, James Fauntleroy and Isaiah Rashad.
Sza most recently released “Hit Different,” her first standalone single since “Ctrl.” The track, produced by The Neptunes and featuring Ty Dolla $ign, was released with a self-directed music video including choreography performed in a junkyard and on haystacks.

1971’s And Now for Something Completely Different packaged sketches from the first two seasons of TV’s Monty Python’s Flying Circus. That alone was cause for a drink or two, since mood adjusters were quite common among those who watched the show. The film was intended to introduce the British comedy troupe to the U.S. audience, which flopped when nobody got the humor. After PBS began showing the TV series, awareness was elevated enough so that a 1973 re-release was slightly more successful. It became a regular on the midnight movie circuit.
