The Excessive Heat Warning has been extended through this weekend. Widespread major to locally extreme HeatRisk will continue across the lower deserts of Arizona and southeast California.
Temperatures 10-15 degrees above normal will continue into next week. Record breaking levels are forecasted to continue as afternoon readings will be near 110°.
Above normal temperatures continue to be favored heading into the middle of October.
Heat Safety tips: remember to stay hydrated, look before you lock your car, stay cool by limiting your time outdoors, and if outdoors find shade and take breaks often and don't forget to use sunscreen.
For Phoenix, Monsoon 2024 ended as the hottest monsoon on record, with an average temperature of 98.3°F, and tied as the 7th driest on record, with only 0.74" of rain measured at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.
