Gen V Season 2 has started production. The cast shared updates on social media. Derek Luh and Lizzie Broadway star as Jordan Li and Emma Meyer. They posted set photos on Instagram to mark the start of production. Luh shared two images on his profile. The first shows his trailer with his character's name and the letter M in brackets. The M differentiates his trailer from London Thor's, who plays the female version of the same character. Jordan can change genders and use powers unique to each gender.

The second image is a mirror selfie of Luh in a God U jacket. This jacket is different from Jordan's usual light blue jacket. The change could indicate Jordan's rising status in God U without Golden Boy or Andre Anderson. Broadway shared an Instagram story showing director's chairs with her and Luh's characters' names.

The second season will not include two main characters from Season 1. Golden Boy committed suicide after being abused in The Woods. Patrick Schwarzenegger, who played Golden Boy, is filming The White Lotus Season 3, making his return unlikely. Chance Perdomo, who played another key character, passed away in a road accident. Producers decided not to recast his role and will write him out of the story. They plan to honor Perdomo in the upcoming season.
