Liquid IEDs: New threat emerging in terrorism theatre of Kashmir

In a recent raid, Jammu and Kashmir police recovered difficult-to-detect liquid IEDs, marking their return to militancy after 17 years. The explosives were found with the help of an Over Ground Worker (OGW) arrested after a gunfight in Pulwama, where Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists Riyaz Dar and Rayees Dar were killed. Riyaz Dar, an A++ terrorist, and Rayees Dar, an A category terrorist, were involved in various terror activities. The police arrested four OGWs and discovered the liquid IEDs hidden in orchards. This raises concerns as liquid explosives can evade conventional detection methods.
