Yesterday we were joined by Helen Fospero who hosted ‘The Convex Conversation’ live with Dawa Sherpa, sharing his story about growing up in the small village of Lukla in Nepal, with limited to no education due to the accessibility of schools. With a passion for education and a family of his own, he set up ‘Classrooms in the Clouds’ an initiative building classrooms in the Nepal mountains to make education accessible for all ages where ever you live. Starting in 2007 he has now built over 80 earthquake resistant classrooms, sponsored 30 teachers with mentoring support and ongoing professional development as well as addressing gender inequality - providing menstrual health training and hygiene facilities to empower women and girls to stay in education. This means they've committed to making information on parental leave and pay policies transparent, demonstrating their support or working parents and championing inclusion. 👪 Convex Insurance has also recently increased their parental leave offering from eight weeks to six months full pay.
