Leading the way towards trustworthy, accessible, and inclusive AI systems for the benefit of society.
Info
The ETH AI Center is one of the world's largest hubs for research in artificial intelligence comprising a faculty of over 102 professors. The center spans all 16 departments and brings together over 1500 researchers from AI foundations, AI applications, and AI implications. Our vision is to enable the path towards trustworthy, accessible, and inclusive AI systems. We believe that this requires a novel interdisciplinary approach where AI foundations are co-evolved together with application areas. With a dedicated physical space over almost 1000sqm, we also create an environment for serendipitous collaborations, an incubation space for start-ups, and companies that want to stay at the cutting-edge of AI.

🕵♂️ "I understand the outcry about AI training with user data" says Florian Tramèr, who leads the AI Security Research Group at ETH Zurich. He emphasizes the growing concern: "The more user data is fed into models, the more it becomes a privacy issue." 🕵♂️ Florian, a faculty member of ETH AI Center, is often cited in the press for his groundbreaking work on AI security. The quote above is from a recent article by Ruth Fulterer, tech reporter at NZZ. 📰 Her article highlights Florian's research, demonstrating that the image generator Stable Diffusion can reproduce not only known content like movie posters and company logos but also faces of non-famous individuals. 📚 Read the full article at NZZ, linked below #AI #Research #Ethics #Privacy #AIGeneratedContent #ETHZurich ETH Zürich Department of Computer Science (D-INFK), ETH Zürich

🚀 AI Adoption in Swiss Tech Industries: Reality vs. Hype 🔍 A recent survey by ETH Zürich, Swissmem, and Next Industries reveals that AI adoption in Swiss tech, particularly manufacturing, lags behind the hype. Despite AI's transformative potential, the survey of over 200 companies shows most are still in the pilot phase. 📊 Key Findings: - AI in Manufacturing: Only 10% of companies are conducting pilot tests, and a mere 12% are planning them. - Strategic Importance: Many firms have yet to consider AI, while others find it currently irrelevant. - International Competitiveness: Despite slow adoption, Swiss tech firms remain competitive globally. 💡 Expert Insight: Prof. Torbjørn Netland, a faculty member at ETH AI Center, suggests companies develop clear AI strategies and invest in specialized talent to unlock AI's full potential. #AI #MachineLearning #SwissTech #Innovation #ETHZurich #Manufacturing #TechIndustry #FutureOfWork ETH Zürich D-MTEC ETH Zurich
