Carbohydrates

The building blocks of the body. Proteins are needed for cell growth, repair, and the production of enzymes and hormones. Protein can be found in animal sources (meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and dairy) and plant sources (beans, lentils, nuts, and seeds).

Provide energy, insulation, and support the absorption of certain vitamins. There are two main types of fats - healthy fats (unsaturated fats found in fish, avocados, nuts, and olive oil) and unhealthy fats.
