SLS and SLES

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) are commonly found in cleansers, shampoos and body washes. They can strip the skin off its natural oils and cause dryness, irritation and trigger eczema.

Parabens

Parabens are used in makeup and skincare products as preservatives. However, parabens may disrupt hormone function, as per studies and have been found in breast tumours, leading to concerns about breast cancer.

Formaldehyde

Also used as a preservative, formaldehyde is a known human carcinogen and can cause allergic reactions. Choose products with natural preservatives.

Commonly used in perfumes and lotion for fragrance and flexibility, they have been associated with reproductive and developmental issues.
