In the power sector, the spotlight is on the health of Distribution companies. Pratik Agarwal, Managing Director of Sterlite Power, emphasized the importance of these companies in the overall health of the power sector.
In the first half of the fiscal year, Sterlite Power accumulated INR 3,300 crores in orders, comprising high-performance, green products such as conductors, OPGW, cables, and specialized Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services, from both domestic and international markets.
Through Neemrana II Kotputli Transmission Ltd, the company will build this green energy project on a BOOT (Build, Own, Operate, Transfer) basis, for a period of 35 years.
The company has secured the order for Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part-1-Bikaner Complex): Part-B Transmission project, a company statement said.
As a result of this move, SPTL will continue to retain its Global Products & Specialized EPC Services business, as well as the Convergence – Fiberco business.
Amid the rising emphasis on renewable energy integration into India's grid, there's an uptick in the demand for superior products and niche Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services.
The SPV was awarded to Sterlite Power through tariff-based competitive bidding in August, a company statement said.
The company's standalone net profit was Rs 246.57 crore in the preceding fiscal ended March 2022, a company statement said.
