ASTRI secured 23 accolades at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, including a prestigious "Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury," six gold medals, along with ten silver medals and six bronze medals. Today, our CEO Dr Denis Yip, along with our talented winners had the honour of attending the “Reception for I&T Awards 2024” officiated by Mr John Lee, the Chief Executive of the HKSAR. We had the pleasure of showcasing one of our award-winning inventions, "Gemstone Eye: Apparatus for Gemstone Identification". At ASTRI, we are committed to aligning with the HKSAR government's dedication to developing Hong Kong as an international innovation and technology centre. We will continue to promote the wider adoption of homegrown technologies, injecting a stronger impetus into Hong Kong’s economy.

𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲: Transitioning to solar, wind, and hydropower is key to reducing our environmental impact. This journey, however, comes with challenges such as integrating variable energy sources, ensuring stability, reducing costs, and advancing energy storage technologies. Yet, the benefits are immense: lowered carbon emissions, job creation, enhanced energy self-sufficiency, and improved air quality. 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲: Renewable energy can support energy security by adding diversity to an overall electricity generation portfolio. Effective integration of renewable energy within smart cities requires a collaborative effort among government, businesses, and the public. Co-organised by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries(FHKI) and HKSTP - Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation(HKSTP), a total of 70 secondary school students joining the third edition of "Innopreneur Experience Journey" visited ASTRI today. Our Senior Director of Ecosystem, University Technology Transfer and Marketing, Ms Jamie Cheng, along with our R&D team, greeted the young minds and gave them an exclusive glimpse into our cutting-edge homegrown technologies. They also got the chance to learn about the latest development Hong Kong’s I&T ecosystem. We hope this inspiring experience spark their interest in I&T, helping them make informed decisions for their future education and career planning. As a proud programme partner, we have arranged for four of our senior staff to mentor some of these students and provide them with an “executive shadowing” experience. Our CEO Dr Denis Yip 葉成輝, and the team had an inspiring visit to the Greater Bay Area (GBA) today. We explored two pioneering smart factories: Hongrita Zhongshan Operation Centre and the SmartMore Corporation. Following our insightful tour of Hongrita's fully automated production plant in Malaysia this May, today’s visit deepened our understanding of the urgent transformation needs of GBA enterprises. We also delved into the bright future of AI technology in new industrialisation. We’re optimistic about the potential of homegrown innovative technologies in the mainland. By integrating smart tech, we aim to optimise manufacturing process, enhance resource management, and drive high-quality development in the GBA. ASTRI was honored to host a distinguished delegation of about 30 participants joining a technology development programme co-organised by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC)) and the Anti-Corruption Initiative for Asia and the Pacific (ACI). The ACI is jointly launched by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD - OCDE) to support countries in the region in formulating and implementing anti-corruption strategies. The "E&M I&T Day 2024", organised by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD), HKSAR Government, kicked off today. Themed “AI Application in E&M Industry”, the two-day event features a series of seminars and exhibition, unveiling the industry’s most cutting-edge advancement. As one of the exhibitors, ASTRI showcased two groundbreaking innovations: the Ultra-lightweight AR/VR Compatible HMD with Sensing and the Privacy-Preserved Sensing system, drawing attention from industry professional to explore potential collaborations.
