Uttarakhand: Landslide blocks Badrinath highway, over 200 roads closed

Video of the landslide into a gorge circulated online. Continuous rainfall in Uttarakhand blocked 200+ roads, including in Kumaon region, and killed two Hyderabad pilgrims near Karnaprayag. Joshimath had subsidence issues earlier.
Trekker from Meerut dies in Uttarakhand, body retrieved after 12-hour operation

Despite adverse weather conditions, a state disaster response force team successfully recovered Singh's body after a 12-hour search in the jungle. The rescue team faced difficulties due to rain-soaked and slippery terrain, but managed to build a temporary stretcher to carry the body to safety.
