OUTR to offer AI & ML courses from this session

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR) has started offering artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) and, mechatronics courses from this academic session. The classes will start from September 11.
The institution is providing B.Tech in computer science (AI and ML) and B.Tech in mechatronics and automation. "AI and ML have a great future. We should prepare our students for it," said Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal, vice-chancellor of OUTR, Bhubaneswar.
He said mechatronics and artificial intelligence are required in the manufacturing industry. "It is the right time to produce mechatronics specialists for creating simpler and smarter systems. AI in manufacturing will change the future of work. These two courses will immensely help engineering students to become industry ready," he added.
The university had earlier opened a centre of excellence on artificial intelligence to conduct research on different problems of the industry and make software programmes for its solution. The state government has prepared a plan to open more new courses in the university.
