Ashoka slams Bangarappa over exam crisis

BENGALURU: Senior BJP functionary R Ashoka criticized minister for school education and literacy Madhu Bangarappa over the stalemate surrounding examinations for classes 5, 8, and 9.
Ashoka alleged that the minister is preoccupied with campaigning for his sister Geetha Shivarajkumar (Congress’ Shimoga candidate) and neglected to address the pressing exam issue. He demanded that Bangarappa be dismissed if he continues to prioritize political activities over ministerial responsibilities.
“The state of the students has become precarious due to @INCKarnataka government’s hasty decision to hold public exams for classes 5, 8, 9, and 11 without proper planning or consideration. Amidst such disarray within the education department, rather than guiding parents and students towards resolving the issue, education minister @Madhu_Bangarapp, absorbed in his sister’s campaign, persists in jeopardizing students’ future,” Ashoka said on X. He added: “Chief Minister @siddaramaiah, if you deem elections to be of greater significance than the welfare of the state’s youth, you should instruct him to step down from his role as education minister and dedicate his efforts to the party on a full-time basis.”
There is still uncertainty over classes 5, 8 and 9 exams, with the high court concluding its hearings and reserving its verdict. The govt’s decision to hold a common assessment has been met with stiff resistance from Organization for Unaided Recognized Schools and Registered Unaided Private Schools’ Management Association.
