Indonesian national held with 36 cocaine pellets in stomach at Guwahati Airport
GUWAHATI: A 33-year-old Indonesian national was detained by the customs department at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati on Tuesday on charges of smuggling cocaine inside his stomach, sources said on Wednesday. The Indonesian national has been identified as Reinhard Sirait of Jakarta.

The sources said the accused had concealed pellets filled with cocaine inside stomach, a method often used by drug traffickers, which was later ascertained through X-ray. The source said the accused was taken to a hospital, where the pellets were safely recovered.

The source added that at least 36 pellets, each approximately 10 grams in size, were extracted from his stomach.
