Pune Porsche crash: RTO set to cancel car's temporary registration
PUNE: The temporary registration of the high-end Porsche Taycan will soon be cancelled as the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) is all set to send an intimation in this regard to their counterparts in Bengaluru Central.
“We had issued a notice to the teen’s father asking why not the car’s temporary registration be cancelled and gave him two days to reply. The deadline is over and no communication has been made. We have decided to inform the Bengaluru Central RTO to cancel it. It should be done by Tuesday,” Sanjiv Bhor, Pune regional transport officer, said.
On Monday, a three-member Porsche team from Mumbai and the Pune RTO inspected the car, for the second time, for around four hours at the Yerawada police station. “We will submit a report to the police soon,” Bhor said. An official said despite the keys in place, the engine didn’t start.

Sources in the RTO said the Porsche team had collected data and taken it with them. “They will analyse it and will send us their report in three-four days. After this, the RTO will make its report and submit it to the authorities concerned,” an official told TOI.

The temporary registration was from March 18 to September 7. Section 199A (4) of the Motor Vehicles Act says when an offence is committed by a juvenile, the registration of the vehicle used in the offence shall be cancelled for a period of 12 month, Bhor said.
