Patna: Patna University (PU) will release the second cutoff list for admission to its four-year undergraduate programmes in its different colleges in the current academic session (2024-25) on Saturday. More than 1,900 students have already been admitted from the first cutoff list between Monday and Wednesday.
Giving details of the admissions held in different honours subjects in arts, science and commerce streams from the first merit list, PU dean of students’ welfare (DSW) Anil Kumar said the maximum number of students (546) were enrolled in Magadh Mahila College, followed by 454 in Patna College.

The number of students admitted to B N College, Patna Science College and Vanijya Mahavidyalay was 428, 290 and 194 respectively. The total number of sanctioned seats in these colleges is 4,531, he said.
He said the second cutoff list against the remaining seats in different honours subjects in various colleges will be released on June 15, while the admissions will be held on June 19 and 20.
If some seats remained vacant even after June 20, the third cutoff list could be released after June 20.
Students, who took admission in the first round and opted for the ‘sliding option’, would be considered for upgrade (of the choice of college or honours subject or both) in the second round of admission, said the DSW.
He said admissions are also being held simultaneously in the three-year degree courses under self-financing scheme in different colleges. The self-financing (vocational) courses running in different colleges of PU are Functional English (Patna College and B N College), BCA (B N College, Patna Science College and Magadh Mahila College), BBA (Patna College, B N College and Magadh Mahila College), biotechnology (Patna Science College and B N College), mass communication (Patna College), environmental science (Patna Science College) and social work (Magadh Mahila College).
