To get back partner’s attention, man kills kid in Telangana's Nizamabad

HYDERABAD: A farmer from Nizamabad district was arrested on Thursday by Suryapet police for allegedly killing his lover’s 22-month-old daughter two days ago. The accused allegedly pushed the infant from the stairs when her mother was taking a bath. Police also found bite marks and burn marks inflicted by a hot object on the child’s body.
Police said that Bollenka Aravind Reddy, 25, was in a relationship with the child’s mother and felt fed up with the girl falling sick frequently and her mother giving her more attention. To get his partner’s complete attention, he killed the girl.
“He told his partner that the girl fell from the stairs and became unconscious. They rushed her to a nearby hospital, but when doctors declared the girl dead, he fled from there. He was arrested and sent to judicial remand,” said Suryapet Rural inspector Y Surendar Reddy.
He killed the girl on Tuesday evening. Initially it was suspected to be death due to falling down the stairs, but after seeing injuries on her body, the woman’s family raised suspicion and lodged a complaint with the police.
