Prescription drugs: Four held for smuggling in Chennai
CHENNAI: Four people were arrested on charges of smuggling prescription drugs in Tondiarpet. Police seized 4,000 tablets from them.
A police team stopped individuals roaming in a suspicious manner in the area and inspected their bags when they found drug tablets.

Further inquiries revealed that the teenager was Karthik alias 'Pura' (dove) Karthik of Kargil Nagar near Thiruvottiyur. Cops then nabbed three of his associates: Dinesh alias Manda Dinesh of Red Hills, Abdul Kareem of Ennore, and Madhan Kumar of Manali New Town.

Cops recovered 4,000 drug tablets. A probe revealed that the four had been engaged in the illegal trade for the past four months. tnn
