Suspected criminal held after gunfight with Noida Police
NEW DELHI: A 25-year-old wanted criminal has been arrested after a gunfight with the police, officials reported on Thursday. This incident occurred during a late-night operation on Wednesday involving the Sector-113 police station team in Noida and two criminals on the FNG Road, according to a senior officer.
"The police signalled the duo, who were riding a motorcycle, to stop for a check. However, instead of complying, the criminals opened fire on the police team and attempted to flee," stated Additional DCP (Noida) Manish Kumar Mishra.
In the exchange of gunfire, the police apprehended one of the criminals, identified as Prakash alias Chuha. He had a Rs 25,000 reward for his arrest.

Prakash sustained injuries during the encounter and was subsequently arrested. Mishra added that the police recovered an illegal firearm, a stolen motorcycle, and four looted mobile phones from Prakash’s possession.

Prakash has around a dozen criminal cases against him, including one filed at Noida's Sector 58 police station, where he had been wanted for the past two years, said the additional DCP.

Prakash's accomplice, Manish, a resident of Delhi's Kalyanpuri, managed to escape, Mishra mentioned.

The police have started a combing operation to locate Manish. Meanwhile, Prakash, who was injured, was taken to a hospital, and further legal proceedings are underway.
