Woman dies as electric pole falls on her in Budaun

Bareilly: A 40-year-old woman going to the market with her son on a bike was killed after an electric pole, uprooted by heavy wind, fell on her in Kadarchowk area of Budaun on Saturday.Locals rushed Khushina Begum and her son to hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

SHO Udaiveer Singh said the family refused an autopsy and did not lodge a complaint against the power department.

A resident said the material used in the pole was of sub-standard quality and it couldn’t bear the brunt of wind and collapsed. Asif Ansari
