ITANAGAR: 15 students of class 8 students were assaulted by their seniors at a government-run school hostel in Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang district.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Bordumsa, where several class 11 students beat up the juniors with sticks. Five senior students were suspended and a police complaint was lodged. The injured students received first aid at a hospital.
Principal Rajeev Ranjan convened a disciplinary action committee meeting which found five senior students guilty of causing physical and psychological harm.
"We have already suspended the students, who were involved in the incident. It is an isolated case. We will ascertain the reason behind it," stated the principal.

Rajeev Ranjan also mentioned that the school is maintaining contact with the parents of the assaulted students.

"The injuries are not that serious. Medical tests have already been done by the parents of the students," the principal said and further added, "A parent-teacher meeting was convened and the matter will be discussed with the guardians of the class 11 students."

Changlang Superintendent of Police Kirli Padu assured that the identification process of the accused students is ongoing, and the police will engage with the victims.
