RU releases list of cut-off marks for admissions to UG courses
Jaipur: The constituent colleges of Rajasthan University (RU) on Wednesday released the first merit list for admissions into different undergraduate courses this year.
This year for undergraduate admissions around 26,000 forms were received which is 2,000 lesser than last year when the university had received 28,000. In 2021, RU had received 47,000 forms for admissions in undergraduate courses.
Officials from Maharani College said this year there has been a slight increase in cut-off percentage for most courses, with the difference being an increase of around two percentage points.
This year, in Maharani College B.SC (Maths) Group touched a cut-off of 98.2% for general category, while B.SC (Bio) group has a cut-off of 95%, BA Pass course touched 96.2%, B.Com Pass Course has 95.6%.
In University Rajasthan College, the highest cut-off this year is for three/four-year BA Programme Political Science for general category with 95.2%, followed by Geography with 92.4%. Under the National Education Policy, if a student studies for three years, then they get a BA degrees, and Honours degree is given only if they continue studies for the fourth year too.
In Commerce College, the highest cut-off at 93.4% was for B.Com (Accountancy-Business Studies) course. In Maharaja College, the highest cut-off was for Mathematics (Hons) at 97%.
Prof Payal Lodha, principal of Maharani College, said, “In most of the courses across streams like science, commerce and humanities, there has been a slight increase in the cut-off percentage. From last year, the percentage has increased, but it is not very high.”
Officials from Maharaja College, which offers science courses, said the number of applications is low this time.
