Rain delays IPL 8 opening ceremony in Kolkata

The opening night of the eighth Indian Premier League (IPL) kicked off at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Tuesday.
Though Bollywood stars like Hrithik Roshan, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar and Shahid Kapoor tried to lift the audience’s mood after a 1.5 hour delay in the ceremony due to heavy rain, the twiterrati were less than impressed – some calling the event a 'damp squib'.
Shahid almost slipped, Rohit Sharma stepped on a light while climbing the stage but, nonetheless, Virat Kohli was all smiles for obvious reasons at the ceremony.
