​Best-selling motorcycles in India: Honda Shine grows, Splendor tops list despite decline

​Hero Splendor, despite witnessing a significant 11.05 percent decline as compared to 3,42,526 units sold in May last year, has comfortably retained its top spot in the list with 3,04,663 units sold in May 2024. ​

Honda Shine

​Next up, the Honda Shine, showed impressive growth numbers as compared to last year’s performance in May. The company sold 1,49,054 units, up by a massive 43.74 percent, as compared to 1,03,699 units sold in the year-ago period. This marked the sales of 45,355 units more. ​

Bajaj Pulsar

​Bajaj Pulsar appeared to have maintained its stance as the sales remained flat. The manufacturer sold 1,28,480 units of the Pulsar range, registering a marginal 0.06 percent growth as against the 1,28,403 units sold in the corresponding month last year, up by just 77 units. ​

Hero HF Deluxe

​Hero HF Deluxe secured the fourth spot on the list despite experiencing a significant 20.13 percent decline in sales. The number of units sold dropped from 1,09,100 in May 2023 to 87,143 last month, indicating that the company sold 21,957 fewer units compared to the same period last year.​

TVS Apache

​On the other hand, TVS Apache sold 37,906 units, marking a significant 9.65 percent decrease from the 41,955 units sold in May 2023. This represents a decline of 4,049 units compared to the same month last year.​

TVS Raider

​Unlike its sibling, the TVS Raider experienced a healthy growth of 8.16 percent, with sales rising to 37,249 units compared to 34,440 in the same month last year, marking an increase of 2,809 units.​

Bajaj Platina

​Among the models in the list of top-selling motorcycles in India, Bajaj Platina faced the most significant decline, with sales plummeting by 28.27 percent to 30,239 units from 42,154 units in May 2023. ​

Honda Unicorn

​The Honda Unicorn, once a popular model in the Indian motorcycle market, seems to be making a notable comeback. The company sold a substantial 24,740 units, capturing a market share of 2.93 percent and thereby securing the eighth spot in the list.​

Royal Enfield Classic 350

​The Royal Enfield Classic 350 recorded sales of 23,779 units, a significant 9.76 percent decline compared to the 26,350 units sold in the same month last year. Despite the drop, the Classic 350, which remains Royal Enfield's best-selling model, secured a market share of 2.81 percent.​

​Hero Passion emerged as a standout performer, achieving an extraordinary growth of 507.04 percent. The model's sales surged to 22,327 units, a dramatic rise from the mere 3,678 units sold in May 2023. ​
