I haven’t watched ‘The Kerala Story’. And I don’t intend to watch it. Not because it’s a wrong depiction of a state through exaggeration and distortion of facts. It’s just a badly made movie, going by reviews.

So, is Kerala really God’s own country, as the atheists there call it? Not really. I left Kerala, where I was born, 28 years ago. And every time I go back there, I find Kerala’s secular fabric frayed further. Muslim fundamentalism is growing at an alarming pace. So is Hindu fundamentalism. So is fascism by self-proclaimed communists.
