'Smart city is new vision for South Asian countries'
KOTA: Appreciating India's progress in materializing the smart city mission into reality, Afghanisthan diplomat in India Shaida Mohammand Abdali said that smart city mission is a new vision for South Asian countries and the pace with which India is heading is to it is inspiring to the other nations.
Abdali was as guest of honour speaking in two day smart city summit that kicked off on Friday in Kota, the city also in the list of smart city project. On the first day of the event, experts smart city project, public representatives district officials shared ideas on smart city project.
Prime minister Narendra Modi's vision on smart city mission is also an inspiration for the country like Afghanistan and inspired by the same, a proposal to develop nine Afghan cities on trend of smart cities in India is underway and a positive negotiation with Indian government is going on the same, Abdali said.The Afghan city Khairat is in the list to be developed on Ajmer city in Rajasthan, he said. Referring India as telecommunication hub, Abdali stressed on coordinated fight to root out terrorism and to work to infrastructure de velopment, education and new technology.
There should be no place of terrorism as it is the key hindrance on the way to development and progress, he said. Rajasthan has abundance of opportunities in agriculture and mining very much like dry fruits and new mining development in Afghanistan, he added.
