BENGALURU: A 30-year-old jewellery firm employee was arrested for attacking his colleague with acid after a fight on Monday.
Janata Adak allegedly threw dilute sulphuric acid at Mantu Santra, 32, after they fought over a petty issue near Ulsoorgate. Mantu sustained 30% burns on his face and chest and is being treated at Victoria Hospital, a police officer said. Both are from West Bengal.
Adak and Santra work at a jewellery-making unit in Cubbonpet.
The incident happened post 12.30am when they were drinking with two others after work. A drunk Santra abused Adak, who lost his cool and threw on him a bottle of diluted acid that was kept for jewellery-related work. Adak fled after the attack and was arrested from his friend's house in Mysuru.
