The week long Theatre fest Rang Sopan 2 at Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal comes to an end

The week-long theatre fest, Rang Sopan 2, concluded recently here at Bharat Bhavan.
The fest staged some of the classic plays based on the works of renowned theatre director Kavalam Narayan Panicker. The event also had artistes from Thiruvahindrapuram perform. Bhopalites turned up in huge numbers to watch the plays by Panicker, who has written as many as 26 Malayalam plays, with many of them adapted from Sanskrit dramas and Shakespearean plays.With the language not being a hindrance, the theatre lovers had a great time watching Malayalam and Sanskrit plays along with the Hindi ones. On his trip to Bhopal, Panicker said, “It has always been a great experience to be in this city of theatre lovers. I have some very special memories attached to Bhopal that make me nostalgic. I used to work here at a repertory. I am so overwhelmed to come back and receive such a great response from the people here. There’s no doubt that MP has always been welcoming art and artistes.”
