Berhampur: Health minister Mukesh Mahaling on Monday launched an integrated health surveillance initiative in silk city to prevent communicable diseases like malaria, dengue and diarrhoea (MDD) during monsoon. The two-month-long campaign under MDD+ Initiative, including ‘stop diarrhoea campaign-2024’, is aimed at creating awareness about the prevention of these diseases.
“The campaign has been launched from July 1 to Aug 31 across the country. The main aim is to arrest the spread of the diseases and to reduce the fatalities,” said the minister while addressing a meeting on the occasion. He also said the govt will take steps to establish a special burn unit at MKCG Hospital here soon.
