Govt to send e-notices from July 1
Panaji: From July 1, the state will officially be able to send notices to citizens in electronic form. These notices, which will have a unique identification number, could be summons, requisition, direction, or even a warning.
Govt has notified July 1 as the date from which the Goa Electronic Delivery of Notices Act, 2022 (Goa Act 16 of 2022) will come into effect. As per the act, any notice which is required to be given under a state law or rules and regulations, to any person, may be sent via electronic devices like cell phone, computer or any other device via email, web-based forms etc, where such person or his authorised representative gives consent in writing for service of notice on him by such mode.
Notices are not served on time due to a shortage of manpower or because the recipient cannot be located. Govt had introduced the Act in July 2022 and had got it passed.
