He also pointed out that other infrastructures of the schools were also in a dilapidated condition. “The desks and benches in the classes were almost damaged, along with leaky roofs. We are hoping to create a conducive environment for the students but due to the lack of funds, we couldn’t carry it out,” the principal added.
Potable water was another issue in the school as the filters in the water purifiers were also damaged.
The inauguration of the newly renovated school was done on Sunday by the governor of Assam, Gulab Chand Kataria.
The school, where work started in March, saw the construction of modern facilities in the toilets making it convenient for the students and staffers. Along with new filtration systems, water taps were also installed so that students could get clean drinking water.

19 govt schools dont have a single student in Haryana
A recent govt report highlighted issues in state schools: 19 schools with no students, 811 with one teacher, and 3,148 with low enrollment. Concerns include teacher vacancies, impacting central grants. Vacancies for elementary teachers increased 11.1% since 2021-22. Secondary teacher posts remain unfilled, affecting financial aid. The report also mentioned 31,068 out-of-school children needing formal education in 2024-25.
Schools do well in coastal dists, but students performance dips
CBSE class X and XII results in Mangaluru show 100% pass rates. Sr Melissa from Mount Carmel Central School mentions students opting for revaluation. Thaneesha tops Class 12 with 97%. Serah Elizabeth Baiju emerges as the topper with 97.4% in grade 10. Little Rock Indian School in Brahmavar achieves 100% results in both grades.
