Khanna police arrests two accused for firing on a jewelry Shop

LUDHIANA: Three days after two miscreants fired at the jewellery shop on railway road in Doraha, Khanna police on Saturday arrested both the accused. The accused were identified as 34 years old Pardeep Singh of village Begowal in Payal and 36 years old Suraj Prakash of Preet Vihar, Vaddi Haibowal in Ludhiana.

Police recovered four pistols, seven magazines along with 36 live cartridges from their possession. Giving details, SP Investigation Khanna, Saurav Jindal said that on 12 June evening, police received an information report of firing at the shop of Paramjit Jewellers, Doraha, by some unknown persons, after which the police party and senior police officers reached at the spot. He added that considering the seriousness of the incident, case under sections various sections including attempt to murder and arms act was registered was registered against unknown persons at Doraha police station and investigation of the case was carried out.

Police officer said that during investigation special teams of Doraha police station and CIA (Crime Investigating Agency) staff were formed to trace the unknown persons. He added that backward and forward linkages were worked upon by Khanna Police in joint operation with Counter Intelligence team, Bathinda.

Police officials said that on Saturday Pardeep and Suraj Prakash arrested and four pistols along with 36 magazines were recovered from them. They added that during the investigation, it came to light that Pardeep and Suraj are habitual criminals against whom cases of fighting, robbery, theft and murder are already registered.

Cops said that Suraj is wanted in FIR dated 27 February under murder, attempt to murder and arms act sections at PAU police station in Ludhiana and Pardeep Singh is wanted in FIR related to attempt to murder and other sections of IPC and Arms act at Doraha police station. They added that during the investigation, it came to light that the accused Pardeep Singh had a financial dispute with Paramjit Verma, father of victim, due to which Pardeep Singh has committed this incident.
