A distance of 10.6km between Princess Street in Marine Drive to the Worli-end of Bandra-Worli sea link will be covered by the Mumbai coastal road.

The road will have twin tunnels, each 2.07km long, from Priyadarshini Park to Girgaum Chowpatty.

While the length of the north-bound tunnel from Priyadarshini Park to Marine Drive is 2,072m, the south-bound tunnel will be 2,082m.

In 2017, the BMC initiated the coastal road project with the aim of addressing the issue of traffic congestion in Mumbai, specifically on the western waterfront.
