Mr. & Mrs. Mahi box office collection: Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer struggles to cross Rs 35 crore mark
Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Mr. & Mrs. Mahi , directed by Sharan Sharma and backed by Karan Johar, seems to be struggling at the box office after a great run. In cricket terminology, the film has a great power play session, but is unable to handle itself in the middle overs against some of the newer releases like Munjya and Chandu Champion.
Mr and Mrs Mahi revolves around the lives of Rajkummar and Janhvi, their dreams and their love for cricket.
The film, in two weeks, earned about Rs 33.25 with Rs 24.45 crore coming in the first week, and Rs 8.8 crore in the second. It entered the third weekend on a slow note, where on Friday it collected Rs 30 lakh which was a 60 % drop from Thursday's collection of Rs 75 lakh. The film on Saturday did cover a lot of ground, where it collected Rs 50 lakh, a 66 % jump from Friday, and on Sunday the collections jumped to Rs 72 lakh, a jump of nearly 44 % as per early estimates by Sacnilk, thus taking the weekend collection to Rs 1.52 crore, and total collection of the film currently stands at Rs 34.77 crore.
It would be interesting the see how the film fares over the week, as next week onwards the competition will get intense with the release of Rohit Saraf’s Ishq Vishq Rebound which will be followed by Kalki 2898 AD with Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.
