To achieve Ashwatthama's aged and weathered look, Bachchan underwent a meticulous three-hour prosthetic transformation every day on the set
The process involved distressing the fine mul cotton fabric used for Ashwatthama's costume, giving it a sheer and aged appearance. The multiple bandages that wrap the character's wounds were designed to look as if they had been soaked in blood and turmeric over the years.
