Jumping on to the AI bandwagon is this tardy sci-fi thriller that’s more like a comedy, but an unintentional one. And that’s because you just cannot take anyone or anything seriously in this mess of an AI mumbo jumbo. Director Sam Bhattacharjee and his crack team of writers (Sara Bodinar, Luke Hetherington, Sudhanshu Dubey and Cristian Prisecaru) weave an ambitious story about an unscrupulous techie Hari (Rohit Bose Roy) who runs a company called EleMon. If you think it sounds rather uncannily similar to a certain Elon Musk then join the club.

Hari is all set to launch his revolutionary app IRaH that aims to immortalise individuals through AI-powered avatars, yet the film's execution is a cacophony of mispronunciations and absurd performances. While the concept holds promise, the film's delivery falls flat, with actors struggling to pronounce even basic English words and detective inspector Dunne (Rajesh Sharma) at the forefront of it. An otherwise decent actor, here he fails to evoke any semblance of credibility as a law enforcement officer.

The plot twists are marginally unpredictable, but the overall narrative lacks coherence, devolving into a mishmash of disjointed scenes and forgettable music. ‘IRaH’ squanders its potential to explore the complexities of an AI-driven future, opting instead for unintentional humor and cringeworthy dialogue deliveries. In the midst of it all, the audience is left echoing detective inspector Dunne's sentiment when he stops suddenly while narrating an incident and says, "chhodo yaar, I'm tired."
