Renukaswamy murder case: Darshan in tears as mother, brother, and son visit him in prison
Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is in judicial custody allegedly in connection to the Renukaswamy murder case, was visited by his mother, brother, wife, and son for the first time. They visited him at the Central Prison of the Parappana Agrahara on the outskirts of Bengaluru city on Monday, July 1. Darshan was reportedly moved to tears as they visited.

Darshan’s mother Meena, brother Dinakar, wife Vijayalakshmi, and son Vineesh visited him on Monday morning, the police confirmed, as per IANS. The preferential treatment given to Darshan, especially allowing his family members to visit him has also caused a row in Karnataka.
Kannada actor Darshan, his friend and partner Pavithra Gowda, and 15 others were arrested in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old man from Chitradurga, whose wife is pregnant with their first child. According to the reports, Renukaswamy, who was an admirer of Darshan, sent derogatory messages to Pavithra Gowda. Renukaswamy was allegedly kidnapped and brought to Bengaluru, and tortured to death. Darshan is in judicial custody until July 4, and the police probe is going on.

Darshan’s family has been reportedly facing a cyber attack, and the actor’s wife, Vijayalakshmi had recently penned a note on social media urging his fans to stay calm. "Call for all our celebrities. You all know how much Darshan loves you. It is sad that we are in this situation today and that we have to stay at a distance from him. I have spoken to him in detail about the situation outside and it has touched his heart. We have immense faith in the judicial system of our nation and am sure there will be brighter days ahead. I firmly believe that those attempting to harm Darshan through words/action during his absence will be taken care of by Mother Chamundeshwari," she said.
